Motivation for Sustainable Exercise

If there was one thing I found most difficult to stick to consistently, it was regular exercise. How about you? I talk in my book about the importance of increasing our activity to raise our heart rate, three to four times a week. I also talk about the 'Stickability' factor but one thing I haven't mentioned is working with our biorhythms.

So let's examine what I mean. Have you ever tried to go to a gym or increase your activity after work or later in an evening? How about 6am in the morning? I can almost hear the shouts of 'No Way' from here! Believe it or not the time of day you set aside for extra physical activity has a huge impact on how you manage to stick to it.

We all have an inbuilt mechanism that regulates the flow of energy in our body. At certain hours of the day there is more energy available to us than at other times. This is due to our personal biorhythm. If we are in tune with it and working to its rhythm, whatever we do will flow more easily and be more enjoyable. Work against your biorhythm and you will always struggle.

For me, my optimum time to exercise is 6am. This is when I am full of energy. Undertaking an activity at that time of day seems to set me up for a positive start. I feel more energetic and find that my mind rarely wanders to thinking about food. When there is an opportunity to get more active during the day I find myself feeling more enthusiastic and resist resistant the 'call to get physical'.

But that is my biorhythm. Yours may very well be quite different. So how do you regulate your increased physical activity to your biorhythm?

1. Take note as to what parts of the day you feel most energetic.

2. If you don't feel you have much energy then note what parts of the day you feel most energised after physical activity

3. Find friends who have the same biorhythms and support each others activity motivation

If you haven't thought about it before, give it a go and see your commitment levels improve.

Self-Help Anxiety Curing Methods to Help You Fall Asleep

Self-help anxiety curing methods can be extremely valuable if they are successfully implemented and help you with troubles falling asleep. Most people who suffer from anxiety or panic attacks have an especially difficult time getting a good night's rest. A lack of sleep will only heighten the chances for anxiety to take over your day.

For many that suffer from anxiety, bedtime is just another dreaded part of life. The thought of lying in bed in silence and letting thoughts run wild can be outright terrifying. I used to feel like this, and I wouldn't be able to fall asleep without the background noise of the television present. It's easy to let your thoughts take over and begin worrying about all the negative things that can happen tomorrow, or replaying any stressful events of the previous day.

The obvious truth is that these thoughts do you no good, and when you don't get the amount of sleep your body needs to function you're inviting anxiety into your life.

Self-Help Anxiety Tip # 1 - Think Positive

Bringing positive thoughts into your life will benefit you in multiple ways. It's really easy to fall into a habit of dwelling on negative thoughts all day long. We all know someone who takes this to an extreme and it's safe to say that this kind of person is never the life of the party. This type of person can bring everyone around them down, and if they exhibit worry or fear, those same feelings are likely to be become contagious as well.

Contrarily, positive speech and positive thinking can also catch on. Positive thinking can replace the habit of negative thinking. When you lie down at night to go to sleep, the first thoughts don't have to be about how horribly wrong your day may go tomorrow. Instead, you may just get into a habit of feeling great about what potential tomorrow holds and looking forward to the future.

Self-Help Anxiety Tip #2 - Exercise Regularly

If you haven't heard by now, exercise is healthy. I apologize for the sarcasm, but it seems many people don't quite understand just how much exercise can benefit your all around well-being. Sure you'll lose weight and feel good about yourself (as if that wasn't enough reason to exercise), but a regular exercise routine will dramatically reduce the amount of stress and anxiety in your life.

Try jogging a mile or lifting weights for 20 minutes the next time you feel anxiety taking over. After 20 minutes stress melts away and it's often replaced with a sense of elation. Exercise is a potent all-natural stress killer. If you do workout, or have in the past, I have no doubt this rings true for you. If you don't exert yourself often, give exercise a chance. One session won't change the way you look in the mirror, but you will immediately feel the effects of its anxiety diminishing power.

Secondly, on the days that you exercise, you won't be able to ignore the fact that sleep comes with less effort and is often uninterrupted. When you introduce a daily workout regimen into your life, a good night's sleep is a natural byproduct. When you combine the two, anxiety is less likely to be a part of your day, or sleepless night. Practicing both of these self-help anxiety curing methods will benefit many aspects of your life.

If you suffer from anxiety you're not alone. There's help available in various forms. If you'd like to learn some more effective self-help anxiety curing methods, visit Mike's site at:

Midlife Women in the Age of Miracles

Are you living your life's dream right now? Women, midlife can be the age of miracles for you. If you are not yet living your dream but are still alive? There's still time!

Victor Hugo once said "Each one should frame his life so that at some future hour fact and his dreamings meet."

There is a story told that years ago, while unearthing an ancient Egyptian tomb, an archaeologist came upon seeds buried in a piece of wood. When they were planted, the seeds realized their potential after more than 3,000 years!

There are seeds of possibility in all of us still. Allow yourself some waking DREAMING... what do you see for yourself?

It's becoming clearer and clearer to me how we create every aspect of our lives - and when we get truly alert - or conscious, we begin to see how we get to SEE in life only that which we have already SEEN in mind..

Do you know where you're going to?
You're going wherever you SEE yourself going...
Take time this week - randomly set an alarm during the day - and when it goes off ask -

is what I'm doing right now taking me where I want to go?

Do you like the things that life is showing you?
It's showing you what you were able to see in the past.
If you don't like what you are seeing - Start SEEING it differently.. Scripture tells us - without a vision, the people perish... Without knowing where you are going - you'll dissipate the energy on things that are meaningless...

How do you see yourself? Where do you see yourself in a year? What are you doing? Who are you being? In 5 years? And ultimately - what's your REAL AIM in life? Women in midlife have the perfect opportunity to ask these questions.

SPEND Time EVERY day picturing what you would have your life to be...

-Create Treasure Maps if you're visual -

-Tell yourself if your auditory...

-Test drive the car if your kinesthetic
You KNOW to do these things-- are you doing them? And,
If not, why not?

You probably have about one third of a lifetime - at least - left. Don't let being a woman in midlife stop you.

This truly can be your age of miracles.

And so, I would like to offer a support system for getting clear on what you want. In fact, I'm all about creating a new Midlife paradigm. When you subscribe to my free Midlife newsletter, you'll also receive instant access to a special report called, "7 Secrets for Reinventing Midlife from the Inside-Out". Putting God On Trial

Want To Control Your Thoughts?

Do you think that your thoughts can rule you? If your answer is YES then you are in the right path. Thoughts play an important role in our life. Our thoughts can be so influencing that we can even heal ailments with just only thoughts. Most of us know this. Also we can make things happen in the way you want them with your thoughts. With your thoughts you can do both good and bad. You may wonder how, just keep reading further.

Thoughts are broadly classified as Positive and Negative thoughts. As the name conveys, positive thoughts are the ones that we will have to give more importance as they do more good than the negative thoughts. There is never a moment a person is not thinking. Most of the time, we are carried away by our thoughts. And most of our thoughts are influenced by people around us.

First of all we must watch our thoughts. Just observe them cautiously. Of course it is difficult the first time. But, you know practice makes a man perfect! You will be able to master this art in no time, if you practice it regularly. Now, after watching them, the next step is to identify them. You can easily find out if it is a Positive or a negative thought. A negative thought is not only those which are bad for us but also the thoughts which will affect others are considered to be negative thoughts. After categorising, our major step will be to control the negative and replace them with the positive thoughts. This is not as easy as we say.

We have to replace the negative thoughts with our positive ones immediately whenever we find them taking control. Longer intervals for this replacement will weaken the positive thoughts and hence the effect will be less. When a negative thought comes and controls? Its origin is from the external forces. Majority of them is from the place and the people. They influence our thoughts and thus affect us. But we need not worry for this because; our thoughts will get influenced only to the extent we allow them. So its very easy for us now. We must be strong and must not allow our thoughts to get influenced. For this we need to practice.

For example, if you have failed in any of your attempts to complete an activity and you thoughts are in such a way which makes you feel more depressed then they are negative thoughts. Say if you think 'Oh I failed! I could not do it! How impotent I am' all these will add on to your failure and will never allow you to try again and succeed. Instead if you start thinking 'these are my new experience and learning that will help me in succeeding in the next attempt. I can do it!' then you will be a winner always!

When we keep reinforcing positive thoughts over the negative ones, we will soon realise that our negative thoughts are gradually getting vanished and we are in control of our thoughts, in turn our emotions. This will surely lead to a happy and peaceful life.

Don't Miss Happiness

The Happy Musings for the Day: Happiness does not come uninvited. It needs to be the guest of honor!

Yep, if you put happiness first, the rest falls into place. That does not mean "pleasure happiness", but true happiness. We are always doing it the other way round - trying to get everything in place in order to be happy. Why miss all that time in the process? "Happiness Now" is the way to go - the happiness that is not dependent on outside circumstances!

I believe happiness does need to be invited into one's life. There is always plenty of room for it. If not, push some other things out of the way to make room. In fact a welcoming committee of all aspects of your being could band together to create a great welcoming party. Then once it shows up, make it the honored guest, so honored that it will never want to leave.

It is almost a life exercise to maintain this state. It seems like it is a state one step above everyday life which goes up and down. Happiness is above the clouds and winds and rains. It is steady and consistent. And it is reassuring to know that we have control over it. It never turns down an invitation. We just have to remember to open the door. I think of all the friends to have, happiness is the best.

A moment without happiness is a moment lost. Don't waste a moment.

Memories and Questions Can Uncover Purpose and Passion

By exploring the things you love to do, your strengths and skills, and what you'd do even if you weren't paid, you can discover your purpose in life.

You can begin a process of discovering your purpose in life, or rediscovering a purpose you previously held that has become neglected and forgotten, with two simple techniques. One is recalling times in the past when you had a strong sense of the direction you should go and followed it. The other technique is answering several questions you may not have thought to ask yourself.

Incidentally, you will probably get more from this process if you don't try to force the memories and answers but allow your responses to bubble up from your subconscious in whatever way feels most comfortable. You will gradually get a sense of the direction in which you want your life to flow, much as a caterpillar needs to go into a chrysalis before it can emerge as a butterfly.

Your memories can help define the purpose of your life. So recall a time when ...

People wanted you to do something and you chose very deliberately not to do it. This may have happened in childhood or later as an adult. As your memories of this event come back to you, experience as fully as you can how it felt to stand up for what you believed in, to choose your own way.

You were very excited about a goal, either large or small, because it was something you wanted to do very much. Remembering that event, experience what it is like to move with determination toward something you want, even if you don't accomplish it as well as you had hoped.

Fate, luck, God, or whatever you would call it, placed an opportunity in your path and, because you took that opportunity, the direction of your life was changed. Experience what it feels like to take advantage of circumstances and challenges you had not expected, but which offer you a chance to grow in some way you would not have been able to grow otherwise.

You were quiet and your mind was not chattering, as it often does, and out of seemingly nowhere came a flash of inspiration showing you just what you needed to do to resolve some problem you were having. Experience as clearly as you can what it feels like to listen to your intuition, to follow your own inner guide.

You achieved something important and others praised you for it. Experience what it felt like to have others acknowledge your achievements.

You accomplished something you wanted to do, but no one else knew you had done it. Experience what it is like to do something well, whether or not others know about it.

Questions can guide you in your quest to discover a deeper purpose in life.

  • What do you love?
  • What do you like doing so much that it recharges your batteries even when you're too tired to do anything else?
  • What are your strengths and skills?
  • Was there ever something in your life that was so important to you that you felt at the time you absolutely had to accomplish it in order for your life to have meaning? Did you do it? And if you didn't, what got in the way?
  • Is there something you would like to do if money, time or energy were not a factor? And when you realize what that is, ask yourself how you might get the money, time or energy to do it.

One final question deals with the principles and values upon which you have built your life up to this point.

Like everyone else, you have chosen, out of the many possible religions and philosophies, one approach, or a combination of several, that resonates most clearly within you. Even if you follow the faith of your parents and accept their values, the question to ask yourself, in order to deepen your understanding of how you make decisions, and thus how you might discover your purpose, is:

What is it within you that caused you to choose your values, your beliefs and your philosophy of life?

All of these questions can guide you toward an overarching purpose for your life. When, in addition, you need to overcome some difficulty, there are seven questions you can ask every day that will remind you to live with purpose even when the going gets tough.

Keeping Your Dreams on a Wire?

Are you living or acting on your dreams or are your dreams sitting, like birds on a wire waiting on the right moment to take flight? If you do not act on your dreams, or take decisive steps to make your dreams a reality, they will remain dreams; buried deep inside of you. Here are a few suggestions to help your dreams take wings:

Believe in yourself, self-confidence is a key component to success. You know much more than you think you know because you have researched and researched your project.

Business plan: Work on a business plan. There are several free samples readily available or find some who specializes in writing business plans.

Mastermind group: Discuss your plan/idea with a trusted friend, or if you have several good friends form, (or join), a mastermind group where you will discuss ideas and come up with solutions or ideas that may be very workable.

Know your product. Do your homework, what/who is your competition. Know the pros and cons of what you are offering. Find out all you can about similar products. Ensure that your product is exceptional.

Prepare yourself to go the extra mile, offer the best of the best.

Listen to others but make knowledgeable, fact based decisions.

Network, network, network you will gather invaluable information from other entrepreneurs, business owners, managers, coaches and or consultants.

Try, try and try again; seek out different avenues and ways to do what you want to do; success does not always come on the first attempt. Trying several times affords you the opportunity to perfect your craft.

Remember, no one can dream Your dream, therefore no one can make it a reality but you. Do not let anyone, not even you, talk you out of your dream.

Is Jesus The Only Way To Heaven

Religious Views Based on Hoping

I was told by an advertising executive one day that all of your advertisements need to deliver some sort of hope for the people you're trying to persuade into buying your products. Funny, if you think about it, I got some and great advice about life from someone in the advertisement business.

Most people are looking for hope, in everything they do. Most of our daily activities revolve around hope and this gives our lives some sort of direction. If you believe in an almighty being and creator of the universe, often you will try to please him, ....or her, ....or it, in hopes of entering the kingdom of heaven or the promised land after you die.

Often our fears will increase our levels of hoping, the fear of doing something against your religion can often inspire you to become a more spiritual person, a good and moral person. Fear of making the wrong choices will inspire us to make better, moral choices, all for the sake of acquiring a ticket to Heaven or Nirvana. You're hoping, your good deeds on earth will earn you a place in heaven.

Most people are afraid of dying and leaving this world, for good. They don't know where they're going and that seems to scare most people. If we can offer someone a little hope, that they are going to a much better place than here, we can often ease the pain and suffering associated with death. I have to admit, most religions of the world promise another world, after we're done with this one.

If you're living a honest and moral life with the hopes of living a bountiful life in heaven, could you be wrong. What if you're seeking Hope in the wrong religion? If you're a Christian and the Hindus are right and you're wrong, do you get to enter there eternal kingdom.

Think about this question, I'm about to ask you. What if spend your whole life studying your religion and it's wrong? There is no heaven and when you die, that's the end of your existence

Have you ever wondered why you believe in your religion and someone in another country or even a couple of miles away believes in something entirely different.

Don't get mad at me or yourself, simply think about the question for a while, this question has transformed my life and put me on a wonderful spiritual path of learning.

Three Questions to Ask Yourself If You're a Christian

I was talking to someone on the Internet the other day through e-mail and I found myself asking them the same questions that I have asked others to think about. That's when it dawned on me that I should make this list available to everyone who is either involved in Christianity or is thinking about becoming a Christian.

1. Why Do You Believe in God?

Have you ever given it much thought, how or why he became a Christian. Were you raised a Christian and now consider yourself a Christian or have you converted from another religion to Christianity? Were you a nonbeliever and now are a believer? Are you someone who was indecisive and didn't really give much thought to Christianity but then met someone and they convinced you to follow the Lord.

2. Do You Use God?

I've heard so many people talk about God when things are going bad but rarely talk about God when things are going good or even give God much thought. When you're having problems, do you pray for God to give you the answers or maybe even a little help? When people are dying, they're reaching for anything that can promise them hope, that this isn't the end of their life. Is God your safety crutch in life, only to be used when there's a problem?

3. Would You Be a Good Person without God?

Is fear the only thing that keeps you in line? You don't want to do anything bad, because you might not get to go to heaven. Is it possible for you to live your life as a good person, an honest person and maybe even show a little compassion towards others, without God. Do you think we could live in a world and be good people without fear or judgment?

I don't really know if these three things are going to help you but if just one of them gets you thinking about Christianity, then I've done my job. Learn a little bit more about your religion and how you came about your beliefs.

How Did You Choose Your Religion? - This Article Could Change Your Views on Religion

How do we come to believe in a religion, one that most of us never even chose? How many people reading this article right now believe in the same religion of their parents and how many of your parents believe in the same religion of their ancestors?

Do you think it has anything to do with repetition? If your parents made it through life, you can do the same and if they went to church every Sunday, by god that's what you're going to do. If these people save their money up for retirement and worked at a 40 hour a week jobs, with all the other hardships that life seems to pass on us, you can do exactly the same thing.

I'm not too familiar with other religions but seem to know a lot about Christianity. As a young Christian I was baptized and went to church every Sunday. The most important part to me about going to church, was the snack I would receive during Sunday school. I really can't tell you what I remember or if I learned very much while attending my church classes.

I do however remember my parents creating a belief in my mind of a God and that God was in charge of everything. If I was bad, God wouldn't like that at all, but if I was good god would like me and maybe if I was even good enough, one day I would get to go to heaven and heaven is a wonderful place to be.

Is this how you came about your religion? You just seemed to follow the path of your parents, family or friends with very little thought, this is just the way it is and you're fine with that. Or are you one of those believers that is almost cult like and could never be convinced that your religion is wrong. You know without a doubt that you need to spread the message of your religion to everyone on earth.

Are you one of the rare individuals who have studied about their childhood religion and have now chosen another path. Has someone convinced you that their religion is better than your old one and now you have switched and can't believe how happy you are.

Thinking about how I never chose my religion, forced me to study other religions, to see which one was right. I am even more confused than when I first started but no longer believe in my childhood religion. I've often wondered what our world would be like without organized religion or somebody trying to control us like the government. Both of these organizations seem to do a pretty good job making us believe they're looking out for our best interests.

Brainwashing People

You Were Born Into Your Religious Thinking

Most of us have been exposed to at least one religion while we were being raised by our parents. I was raised a Christian and lived in a Christian community. Like most Muslims and Hindus, we never had a choice, about which religion we wanted to belong to. Our upbringing determined our future religious beliefs. No matter how good or bad our childhood was, our parents justified their behaviors and we accepted these and will probably pass them down to our children.

I was wondering, what if you took the strongest Christian in this country and put them into a Tibetan monastery, shortly after they were born. Instead of growing up in a Christian community and gathering strength through other Christians, this person would now be exposed to Buddhism.

What do you think would happen now? Do you think that God would intervene and somehow bring him back to the United States or put him in a different Christian community, to be raised as a Christian, instead of a Buddhist? What God intervening and put an end to this nightmare? Do you think that the Christian would now be a Buddhist follower?

We are all products of our environment, whether we like it or not. How you were raised, who you hung around with, the people you admired and of course your parents have all had a certain impact on your life. Believe it or not, your religious views are from your childhood. Now there is a certain exception, those who switch religions, but this is extremely rare.

However, there are people who seem to be waking up from this fog of reality. As the Internet becomes more popular and easier to access, people can often visit other countries from the comfort of their home, through the World Wide Web. The more we are exposed to different points of view and other religions, the more real our world becomes.

The conclusion to this story is, there's a very good chance, by switching a child at birth, their beliefs would be entirely different.

Goal Achieving - The Secret Behind the Secret

It's 2009!...Undoubtedly, a year of change for the nation and the world . . .

The question is: Will it be a year of change for YOU?...If so, what kind of change?

Some of us would like to think that in order for us to be happy, things around us have to get better first. And, while it certainly looks so on the surface, let's talk about our role in changing our world.

Have you ever taken a moment before you turn on the TV or Talk News to feel the change in your body's stress level before and after you turned on the news? If you have, I'd bet you felt more stressed after turning it on. The reason is this: We are all problem solvers by nature - and, sitting in our homes or anywhere else, we have no control over what happens Nationally or Globally, outside of writing an email or letter to our state representative or congress person. And even then, it is out of our control what they do beyond that. We've voiced our opinion, we must now move on. In reality, there are many things we cannot change -- like everybody else in the U.S. or the world -- to fit our vision of how things should be -- and, subconsciously, the frustration of that causes us stress.

The good news is (and this may sound too simple at first) we have the greatest impact on the nation and the world by focusing on what we do at home. Although it may not seem like much, it is and I'll explain why in a minute - In order to change the world, we must first change the things we do have control over, and the closest thing to us is ourselves.

Can we change the world by changing ourselves first?

Absolutely. Our thoughts, our behavior...that little impact we make - our little 'footprint' if you will - and the impact our little changes have in our own lives influence those around us and this -- in turn - we do change the world. By changing a thought, an attitude and behavior in yourself first, you'll see changes on a very small scale initially -- in you! Over time, you'll notice the change that your new behavior and attitudes have on someone else and then someone else, and so on.

How does that work? It works like this: Have you ever seen a ripple in a pond? If you haven't, then go ahead and throw a stone or pebble into a quiet, still tub or body of water and watch what happens. The reaction the water has to the stone or pebble tossed into it is called a "ripple effect." If we throw a small stone gently into the water, the water ripples gently. If it is a large body of water, you'll notice the ripples continue going out and out and out farther and farther and until eventually they get so large and so small you can't see them. Although you cannot see the ripples any longer, the impact is still there. That is basically how we impact the world. The water represents our world and the pebble represents the thought we throw into it. No matter how hard you try, you cannot start with the large ripples. We can only get the result of large ripples by first creating the small --

Just as ripples caused by a pebble being tossed in water can never be rescinded, the ripples we send out into our world can never be retracted...What ripples do you want to be sending out into the world today?

We've all heard the adage, "Change starts at home" and "Charity begins at home." Now you can see how it absolutely does. You may ask, "How can I begin change?"...The same way you eat an elephant, one bite at a time!"

Let me ask you a question: What do you want the world to look like at this time next year? Kinder? Happier? More understanding? More honest? Richer? More compassionate? Then ask yourself: What am I doing in my own life today to make my own life kinder, happier, more understanding, more honest, richer, and more compassionate?

You'll see as the thoughts and actions in your own life change, it 'ripples' in your family and friends, and as your family and friends are influenced by your example they may begin to change, and if they don't, you may decide to spend more time with people who are open to changing previous attitudes and behaviors in order to change your world. You want to spend more time with the kind of people that move you closer to your desired life, so that your life can evolve into everything you want it to be. As you begin to change yourself, by changing your thoughts and actions, you influence your environment, your home, your work, your community and so on. With continued progress in the direction of your desire, your 'ripples' get larger and larger until you literally see your world change.

Ask yourself: "What is it I want? And, what do I intend to do today to make positive changes in my life so that I begin to create the world I want?"

And, "What do I want" can be a difficult question to answer. Most of us think in terms of things we don't want. Ask yourself, if I don't want this...why? and, if I don't want that . . .why? Your answer will likely include or lead you to what you DO want. Hopefully, one of your intentions is to change this way of thinking about what you don't want into what you do want!

The power of the mind is amazing. You can literally create and have anything you want when you become a master at controlling your thoughts. Did you know we are the only animals on the planet that can do that? We have this amazing gift and yet somehow manage to go most of our lives without being aware of it.

Here's an example of how the power of your mind can change your life: Have you ever written down your goals at the beginning of the year, looked back at them at the end of the year and noticed that most if not all of them were accomplished without you even thinking about them again? And, of those that were not accomplished - had you been encouraged to see that steps had been made toward their accomplishment? Or, maybe you decided one day you wanted something and you got it so fast you were shocked? Or you thought about someone then the phone rang and it was them! This is a perfect example of the power of our mind - and of the power of our thoughts. So, when is a good time to test this power?

There is no time better than now!

Winter time is a perfect time to reflect on how things went last year and decide what you'd like to change in your life this year. This is a perfect time to think about, really think about, the kind of life you want and write down your desires and goals for this year on paper.

There are 347 or so days left in 2009. What are you going to be doing for the next 347 days to move you toward having the life you want? 347 days from now, do you want to have the same life as you have today or would you like a different life? What does that different life look like? Visualize it. Feel how it would feel to have gotten that accomplished. Now, write it down! Write down every detail of the picture of the desired life you would like to have 347 days from now.

Now imagine if you took one new step every day toward creating a piece of that picture! If you did one thing a day for your health, beginning with the way you think about it, at the end of the year you'd be healthier than you are today because you made 347 actions toward better health. If you did one thing a day toward improving relationships, your relationships would be 347 steps closer to being reciprocal, honest, trusting, loving, and all the other characteristics you want to see in your relationships. If you read a chapter a day, you would have read 347 chapters, which is more than 20 books by the end of the year! The list is endless. Will this have an impact on your life? Will your life be different next year if you take these steps? Of course it will!

But what happens if you do nothing because you don't believe you can, so you don't change your thoughts or begin to take steps (even tiny ones) today? That's right. Nothing.

It's not a coincidence. It's Law. Just as Sir Isaac Newton discovered the Law of Gravity by analyzing the forces at work when sitting under the apple tree, we can respect the fact that there might be other Laws at play here too. Laws that, just like gravity, we do not see and cannot touch, but they are here all the same. The movie, "The Secret" lays out pretty well the power of the Law of Attraction. But another one of those Laws is the Law of Reciprocation. It states that what you put out, you get back. Put out a little effort, get little return. Put out a lot of effort, get greater returns. Put out no effort, get no return. Put out positive efforts, get positive returns. Put out negative efforts, get negative returns. Give love, get love. That is the greatest lesson of all. If you would like more love from your family, give more love to them. Be kind. Be supportive. Encourage them to grow. Do all the things you would want someone who loved you to do for you if you were in their shoes. The Law of Reciprocation is the Golden Rule, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Another way of saying it is: Give away what you want the most. Respect, love, appreciation...

Always remember there's one thing you can control and that is you. Only you control your thoughts and your actions today. You can make those thoughts and actions congruent with the kind of life you want and you can have it. You do not have control over other people. You may have influence, but you have no control. They have free will just like you. They will discover their power to when they become aware and begin to test it and trust they have it.

Make a decision about what you want and then act on it. Take at least one step each day - make a phone call, ask someone for information, set an appointment, or spend 20 minutes focusing on something you desire, asking yourself, "If I were to have that by December 31, 2009, what could I do today to move myself closer to it." I guarantee that if you did that and took action on whatever answer came to mind, by December 31, 1009 you could be happier, have less stress, be healthier, have more money and better relationships than you do now!

You can accomplish whatever you want, that is, if you do five things: DESIRE it, ASK for it, BELIEVE that you can have it and then follow that belief and ACT on it and, most importantly, stay FOCUSED on it!

My favorite book says, "God helps those who help themselves." We help ourselves by taking action toward the life we ask our higher source or God to provide. Don't expect your goal to fall into your lap if you aren't willing to take action toward it.

Good intentions are not actions. You've heard what they say, "The road to hell is paved with good intentions." You must ACT. This philosophy is congruent with Newton's Law of Motion. Whether you think in terms of the scientific or philosophical, the message is the same: Put your desires into motion by taking steps toward them. In other words, an intention with action charges the intention and brings the intended result about.

Some people might get hung up on deciding on what their goals should be. If you haven't a lot of experience setting and achieving goals, the concept can be challenging. The worst thing is when people get stuck and therefore do nothing. I don't want that to be you!!

When I was 19, the concept of a long term goal was totally foreign to me. Now, it is crystal clear. When I was 19, I could set a goal for this week, this month and even this year, but had difficulty setting a goal for what I wanted 5 or 10 years down the road. When I was 22 years old however, the lightbulb came on, I decided I wanted to own my own business someday...Not knowing yet how to do that, I set out to gain the knowledge and experience I needed to increase my chances of success and set a date.

To envision a long term goal can seem illusive, yet to others it seems simple. Why is that? I'll tell you why. If we have difficulty envisioning long term goals it's because we have no practice getting good at accomplishing our short term goals! We need first to get good at accomplishing short term goals to graduate beyond the short term to the long term. All it takes is awareness, which you are getting now, and practice!

That reminds me of the guy who stopped a concert violinist in New York for directions. He said, "Excuse me. How do I get to Carnegie Hall?" The musician replied, "Practice!"

Long term goals can seem illusive if we haven't developed the ability to achieve short term goals through practice.

Understanding how to make and achieve long term goals without first understanding short and mid-term goals can be like trying to run before first knowing how to stand or even walk -- or trying to graduate High School without going through Elementary School. I suppose if I say it can't be done, someone will sure enough do it, but it is a tough row to hoe. Our mind doesn't work that way. It's hard to grasp concepts we have no foundation for. We learned to walk by practicing getting up. We practiced getting up and began standing. We got better at balancing and standing and began taking steps. Soon we began walking -- with practice. By practicing at achieving the smaller goals, we gain trust in the process, we get better at achieving them and soon we know how to set and achieve larger and larger ones.

As you practice this, you'll notice a funny thing about the mind. That is that as you start moving toward you're the picture of the life you want to create, that life starts moving toward you. It's almost as if the world realigns itself to bring into your focus the things you need to accomplish your goal. The truth is, it was always there, waiting for you to desire it and seek it out by taking action.

Have you noticed how after you buy a new car, suddenly you notice how many of that particular car is on the road? That is an example of awareness. Once you achieve something, even something as simple as a car, you gain a heightened awareness of it. You are aware of this car more intimately now because you own it. And perhaps even begin the action to buy a nicer car soon after by creating a new thought! That's how goals work.

Start small. Build trust and awareness in the process. Eventually, you will become an expert at grasping the smaller achievements and move toward creating the life you want in the long term.

If you're still not convinced this is how your life is designed to work, think about all the stuff in the world: electricity, cars, music, clothing, paper, furniture...all the stuff you can think of that you use and love every day. All that stuff began with a thought and a desire by someone, another human like you, to create it.

When Benjamin Franklin had the thought of putting the key on the string in the thunder storm and acted on it, electricity was discovered. All the elements to create electricity had always existed, but it took Ben to first have the thought, the desire and belief that it was possible and then to stay focused and take action on the thought to achieve it. He tried many things and each time, with practice and action, he became more aware of the solution. The same elements he used to discover electricity were certainly present before that moment, but it took Ben Franklin to have the thought and take action on it to bring it about. The elements to create electricity have been here all along -- even in the cave man days, but cave men had not evolved to the point they needed to produce electricity. They had more basic needs -- like a need for fire to cook food and a wheel to carry the day's catch. Those were their 'discoveries.' Virtually all the earlier creations and discoveries have been expanded over the years to create the 'things' we enjoy today - gas fireplaces, furnaces, automobiles...the list goes on. But everything, no matter what it is, that you need to create your dream is already here, waiting for you to discover it. You only have to have the thought and take action on it.

I don't want you to worry about how you are going to achieve your goal, just know that everything you need, you will have available to you as you gain the awareness to use it. I'm sure Ben Franklin had no idea how to create electricity, but he kept focusing on his thought, maintained his desire, stayed curious about it and after many tries, the 'how' was revealed that one rainy night.

Thought is where all things that created and all goals achieved begin.

Can the mind really do that? Yes! We have a couple of well-known references to prove it. My favorite book says, "Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world." It also says, "Ask and ye shall receive." There are no caveats. No small print. Just, "Ask, and you shall receive." This same book also assures us that we are created in the image of our creator. Doesn't this at least imply that we might also have an ability to create something? Yes. It does. Think about it -- if there was no basic truth to these quotes, why would they have survived 2000 years?

So decide what you want and Ask for it. And don't forget the important elements of Desire, Belief, Action and Focus.

Focus is important. Focus is your mind's GPS. Focus doesn't necessarily accelerate the time it takes to reach your goals. Because the time is what it is. At maximum focus the time it takes to accomplish something is much less than with partial or minimum focus. Your level of focused action determines how fast you reach your goal. There are laws at play here too. Just know that the better you are at focusing the faster you can achieve your goals. Make sure you stay focused so that your actions are taking the shortest route possible to take you where you want to go. If you find you're doing something that does not move you closer to your goal, stop and refocus. Here's why:

Imagine taking a 355 mile trip from San Diego to Phoenix. You set the GPS to find the shortest route. The trip takes 6 hours by car going the speed limit. You begin to drive according to the GPS instructions. If you continue to drive according to the GPS, you'll reach Phoenix in 6 hours. But if you ignore the GPS and instead take several exits along the way, or take the 'scenic route' though the Grand Canyon how long would it take? Or what if you reached Interstate 10 and decided to go North to Palm Springs for the Winter instead? It could take days, weeks or months instead of hours to reach your goal, depending on how many side trips you take and how long you ignore the GPS! Now, it is OK to change your goal, but if your goal is still to get to Phoenix, do you see how much longer it will take you to get there because you took all those detours? A GPS is to a road trip what focus is to achieving your goals. You'll get there faster if you stay focused. It will take longer, or perhaps never, if you don't.

As the Nike slogan goes, "Just Do It!"

Try it. Go ahead and dream. Dream about the life you would like to have 347 days from now. Write it down. Don't worry about the how. The how will come once to decide on what you want, fuel it with your desire and belief that you can have it, stay focused on it and begin taking steps toward it each day. Maintain focus on the life you want 347 days from now and you'll be surprised how your world changes!

Eliminating Negative Media From

Religious Thought - Are You Confused About Heaven?

As a young boy and even into my early adult hood, I asked almost every one that I knew, what they thought heaven was going to be like. These people painted me the most wonderful and beautiful pictures, with the words coming out of their mouths. One woman told me that heaven was going to be the most wonderful place you could ever imagine. She told me that, I would be able to do anything that I wanted to do at any time of the day or night.

All I can say to this, is why are we afraid to die and why do we put that much effort into staying here, when heaven sounds like the place we all want to be. This becomes very confusing during troubled times. We live our whole life to be the best we can possibly be, and then and only then do we get to enter the kingdom of heaven, the most wonderful place in the universe.

Another man told me that, if I wanted to go to heaven, the more good deeds I did on earth, the better buy chances were of actually entering heaven. He said that some people don't get to go, because they did a couple of bad things or maybe one really, really bad thing, like murder. I often wondered what would be worse, murder or painting demonic symbols on the walls of a church, mosque or synagogue. I hope I'm not confusing you anymore than organized religions.

Well now that I have a pretty good idea, that in order to enter into heaven, I need to do good things... that's what I will do for the rest of my life. Sounds simple doesn't it. Now for the bad news, depending on which religion you choose to follow and don't forget that Christianity is one religion that allows you, something special, right before you die, no matter how bad of a person you were to accept Jesus Christ into your heart and accept him as the Almighty God, and this gets you one free pass into heaven.

Am I confusing you at all, does this make sense? When the man told me, that, the only way I would get to go to heaven was by doing good deeds and then the Bible tells me that, I just need to accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and I get to go to the promised land, heaven. All right now were talking, this sounds pretty good now. I won't have to do very many good things and before I die can ask forgiveness for all the bad things I did.

I don't know what's true, but I can say that it gets a little confusing and as you go from religion to religion and place of worship to other places of worship, you will hear different stories, from different religious leaders. I can't make much sense out of some religions, but if you want to believe in heaven, there is someone out there who can paint you, the most wonderful picture of heaven in your mind. Whether we really get to go there or not, depends on what you want to believe in.

I wrote this article to get people thinking about the choices they've made and the religions they choose to follow. Is your religion right and others are wrong? Ask yourself this one question, think back, to when you made a conscious choice to follow the religion you're in right now, if any, most of the time you started believing as a child and never really got to choose because your parents, teachers, friends, family or guardians made a choice for you.

Your Hardest Day In Life

Does God Exist and If So Who's Right? Religion

Would you stake your life on your beliefs? I'm asking this question, hoping that you have an answer. Would you be gambling with your life or are you that sure about your religion. Do you live your life without a doubt that your religion is right and other religions are wrong or are you one of those people that hopes you are right and hopes that the other religions aren't.

If you are a Muslim and follow Islam, is the Quran the Word of God? Is this text flawless and without error? What's going to be going through your mind when you go to heaven, if you go to heaven, only to find out that the Hindu religion is right. Are you convinced without a doubt, 100% that your religion is right or are their errors and mistakes in your religious text.

Is your God going to be merciful and understanding to other religions or other people who have lived what you would consider to be a good and moral life. Is your god going to let them enter heaven or is he going to turn them away or possibly send them to burn in an eternal lake of fire.

Imagine, if you can, standing near a cliff and there was a long line of people and you were slowly working your way towards the front of the line, watching someone who was glowing with radiant light asking people questions, and pushing some of the people off of the cliff, while others walk away unharmed. You're going to be ready to answer any questions that the glowing person is going to ask you.

When you arrive, he simply says do you believe in your religion 100%. What's your answer going to be? What's going to be going through your mind? Are you that sure, that you're right.

So I ask you again, are you positive and without a doubt, 100% sure that you are right about your religion and the other religions are wrong. If you're not 100% sure, do a little research about your religion and your beliefs will either get stronger or weaker but try to keep an open mind, either way.

Most religions around the world have certain things in common. Seek the truth and the truth shall set you free. You've got to know what you're looking for though, so pay attention.

Listen To Your Own Advice

Being Flexible

In each of our lives, there will be times of joy and times of sorrow. In trauma, we are born. In trauma, we leave the world. Somewhere in the midst of living, growing, and understanding life in our maturity, we find ourselves seeking to find what we were born with. Innocence is precious. We really never lose it. We might for a time lose innocence, but life is too large for one perceptual being to embrace fully with the mind and the heart.

Innocence comes alive the moment we realize life is beyond our control, our ability to perceive, and our emotional capacity to feel. It is here we realize that life is beyond our control and we open our hearts and mind to something greater than ourselves. Our ego finds its proper place in our lives and we shift from being the central core of life's existence and attention to something much greater. At this point, we begin to place our life, our heart, our mind, and our soul into the very wisdom that has created us.

This movement from self-centered awareness to life-centered awareness allows us to perceive and have revealed to us information greater than what we know life to be to what can be known through us. Here, we become flexible with life, instead of, life having to go our way. This level of knowing creates a 6th sense, a super sense of awareness, an awareness in higher consciousness. We become more soul than body at this point. We become the awareness that brought us into this world. We become spiritual beings having a human experience. We become sons and daughters of the Universe.

When we remember who we are. We re - member ourselves back into the awareness at birth and at death. This awareness is with us always. We sometimes forget who we are. But, when we re - member who we are. We reconnect ourselves into the sense of knowing we grow through life and we also go through life. Through it all, our soul is in process of maturing and in process of remembering. With this in mind, our ups and our downs find consolation in our essence - in our spirit.

What Does God Care About? - Spiritual Thinking

If I ask you to stop what you were doing, get a piece of paper and a pencil and draw a line down the center of the paper and on one side, write down what you think God cares about and on the other side write down things that you think he doesn't care about, would you do it? Make a list for yourself and then ask yourself, if your religious beliefs are on that list somewhere. As long as the side of the list is longer, about the things that God does care about, I guess everything is okay, isn't it.

If God doesn't care about starvation or hunger, I guess I can understand that. It would make more sense because in the real world, the world God created, it's survival of the fittest, right, wouldn't that be a true statement. The smartest people on the planet and the most educated, aggressive, goal oriented and religious believers seem to have the best lives and live in nice homes, don't they. I really never thought much about starvation but I guess God's plan is based around the strong will survive. I'm just thinking out loud here.

I wonder if God cares about people that are poor and uneducated? These are the meek and don't they inherit the kingdom of God, or am I missing something. Do you think poor people and uneducated people are suffering because God wants them to go to heaven only after they have suffered on earth. I can't really understand the concept of suffering on earth to receive rewards later after you're dead. Just doesn't make sense to me.

What do you think God really cares about? How will we ever know if we're right? If you believe in Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism or any other religion that believes in a deity, I guess you can open up a book and gather all the answers. This doesn't make much sense to me either.

Reading these scriptures can often lead to confusion if you're open-minded. Examining these scriptures a little closer can provide you with education. Educating your self on other religions can help you understand more of what God really does care about. I believe God does care about love and compassion, all gods.

Relax And Rejuvenate With Office Yoga!

Are you spending too many hours hunched over your computer? Did you just get off the phone with a difficult client? Have you become entrenched in office politics? Are you nervous about an important meeting or presentation? Have you been concentrating on a difficult subject for too long of a time period? Instead of stressing out and causing your body to go into a fight-or-flight type of chemical reaction, which over time may lead to a feeling of dis-ease or worse, take a couple of minutes to release some tension.

Office yoga can be done at your desk, in the break room, at the copy machine, or wherever you are comfortable. There is no need to change your clothing or fix your hair afterwards and you only need a couple of minutes to leave you feeling more centered, alert and feeling good.

Please remember that all movements should be comfortable. You want to feel the tension releasing and the muscle lengthening; however you should never push yourself to the point where you feel pain. If you have any physical limitations, be sure to make proper modifications. An integral part of yoga is to be present in your body and be aware of how you are feeling, so put your problems aside, at least temporarily, and be present in the moment. (It is amazing how perceived problems sometimes just seem to work themselves out when we get out of our own way.)

Here are a couple of simple stretches that you can do without leaving your desk:

Grounding & Centering:

From a seated or standing position, lengthen your spine so your head is over your heart, your heart is over your hips (if you are sitting, your feet should be flat on the floor - if you are standing your hips are over your knees and your knees over your ankles) and take several long, slow, deep breaths. Inhale through your nose and let your belly expand, then exhale through your nose and allow your belly to contract as if you were pulling your navel to your spine. *This posture will hereinafter be referred to as neutral position.

Side Stretches:

From a neutral position, take a deep breath in and bring both arms overhead. Clasp your left wrist with your right hand and use your right hand to assist in a stretch of the left side as you bend to the right. Hold for a couple of breaths, come back to center and then repeat on the opposite side. Exhale as you allow your arms to return to your sides.

Neck Rolls:

Starting in neutral position, bring the chin to the chest. Inhale and bring the right ear to the right shoulder. Exhale and bring your chin back down to your chest. Inhale and bring your left ear to your left shoulder. Exhale and bring your chin back down to your chest. Repeat several times on each side and return to neutral position.

Shoulder Roll Sequence:

Roll both of your shoulders several times forward and back. Ultimately bring your arms behind your head so that your hands are clasped and supporting the base of your skull. Lengthen your spine and open back by turning your chin toward the ceiling, being gentle on your neck and squeezing your shoulder blades together. Hold for several breaths. (*This will help off-set some of the postural distortion caused by a computer monitor that is too low or hours of looking downward to do paperwork, however, avoid the spinal extension portion of this stretch if you suffer from a bulging or herniated cervical disc.) Then lengthen the spine back to center and gently bring your chin down to your chest using your hands to apply a pressure that is comfortable for you. Hold for a couple of breaths and then return to neutral.

Spinal Twist:

From a seated position with a long spine, reach both hands to the right side of the chair (holding onto the arm of the chair is ideal) and allow the lower, middle and upper back to twist to the right. Look over your right shoulder. Elongate your spine as you increase the twist and make sure to breathe deeply in this pose. Come back to center and repeat on the other side. (*This pose is very nourishing to the spine but in the event of a spinal injury or if you are in your second or third trimester of pregnancy this should be practiced with due care.)

Back Roll Up:

From a standing position with feet about hip width apart, bend the knees - keeping the knees pointed in the same direction as the toes - and place your hands on your quadriceps. Starting at the lower back, inhale and roll the spine up, one vertebra at a time, neck is last. Repeat several times.

Standing Forward Bend:

From a standing position with feet about hip width apart, lengthen the spine and bend forward, coming out of the hips. Hold onto your elbows and lean forward. Hold this stretch at the level that you are comfortable. It is okay to bend the knees if you are less flexible. Otherwise try to straighten the legs and lengthen through the spine. You should feel a lengthening of the muscles of the back of the legs (the hamstrings). You may also feel a release of tension in the upper back. Gently shake your head to allow a greater release. Make sure to breathe fully and deeply as you are nourishing the brain in this inverted pose. If you would like to increase the intensity of the hamstring stretch, grab the back of your legs or even your ankles and pull your torso toward your legs. Remember, first lengthen the spine and then bend.

Quad stretch:

From a standing position, shift your weight to the left leg. Bend the right leg behind you, trying to touch the heel to the buttocks. Your right knee should be pointing toward the floor. You will feel a stretch in the front of the right leg (the quadriceps). Hold the stretch and take a couple of breaths and repeat on the other leg.

Try to take a couple of minutes, several times a day, to incorporate some stretching and relaxation into your daily grind. It will leave you feeling refreshed, revitalized and more productive.

We are all products of the mental image we have formed for ourselves. Most all images are created by our imagination based on our past life experiences. These experiences, good and bad are fixed in our minds. If we see the sun rising every day, we believe that this will continue forever and we may prepare for each new day by wearing sunglasses. Our daydreams and fantasies form our outlook of the future. Together with our ego's analysis we either live in the past or in the future. Seldom do we allow ourselves the liberty of dwelling in the present.

Many years ago, after I just purchased a motorcycle jacket and was wearing it for the first time, I got into a fight in a parking lot. Upon arriving back at my house after the fight I hung the motorcycle jacket in the back of my closet, never to wear it again. You see, my vision of the future had equated the wearing of the motorcycle jacket to getting into another fight, and I wanted none of that. My belief system had convinced me to rid myself of the object I perceived would lead me into another fight. At that time I knew what I was doing but was afraid to confront myself with the reality of the situation. With respect to the wearing of the motorcycle jacket, I had sealed my future.

The clothing I wear reflects my future interpretation of a coming event based on some past incident. This was a real eye opener for me, however I couldn't do anything about it. My past was my future.

To some extent that is probably the way most of us operate. The modalities I have studied and taught reflect the intent of bringing us into the present and allowing us to operate in the moment. In the practice of yoga or tai chi we must be totally concentrating on the mental and physical posture we are practicing at the moment. These postures must become second nature, enabling us to practice with a still mind. This is the way to go about our daily lives. Let our intuition guide us thru our experiences. Our minds calm, our bodies relaxed and our breath long full and deep. In this way we reflect our true nature as we move thru life.

Beyond Motivation - Passion

It seems that just as we shifted paradigms in the eighties, we worked synergistically in the nineties; now we are passionate in the naughties. Even my local petrol station has passion brochures at the pump! So what are we passionate for ?

Last October I got some unasked for, but expert, advice from an extreme extrovert to be more passionate. After I had calmed down, I took a long hard look at what I was doing and seriously questioned my passion level. This was after all, expert advice.

My research took me through a motley assortment of superficial pop psychology and self help books, all with Passion in the title and each more inane than the last. Finally I stumbled across a book by Sydney author Peter Wallman, The Wisdom of Passion. He appeared to get to the real core of what Passion is, and after meeting with him I was convinced that he had identified a simple but powerful process for identifying and capturing our core passions. I loved the simplicity of the process and the clarity it brought to me and my business. Now I assist others to identify what it is that gets their juices flowing.

Along the way through research, self analysis and questioning of my clients and others who have Passion Mapped I have identified some keys to passion.

Passion is very personal and unique to the individual.

Most of our strongest passions are kept internalised and rarely expressed outwardly.

The most powerful passions are not material (or sport).

Connecting strongly with our passions creates a magnetic effect We attract people and opportunities.

Eliciting deep passions requires skill, we have learned well from the school of hard knocks to keep this side of ourselves hidden.

When we express our passion, our voices change, our eyes sparkle, and our physical demeanor shifts.

Passion is contagious be very careful.

Passion comes before motivation and way before action.

Passion makes a difference.

I share my story of being told to be more passionate with colleagues and clients and generally get snorts of bemusement. As an introvert, I am not given to bounding into a room, leaping in the air, giving great shouts, or jumping up and down on a sofa Oprahs or anyone elses. So how do I express Passion? Tell me after you talk to me!!!

Passion is not something you have more (or less) of. Passion is inherent and intrinsic.

Last week I had the opportunity to coach 10 leaders and staff members of a niche organisation during three intense days.
Each of these individuals has a determination and a spark in their eyes, a tone of voice and a body posture which unmistakably conveys the depth of their passion about the work they do. Unsurprisingly, the organisations Director is passionately leading from the front - a true visionary leader. I felt honoured and very humbled to be coaching this particular team. Their common focus and harnessed energy, steered by their Director, is making a huge difference to their client base. Truly a high impact and passion based organisation.

One of our tasks as leaders is to uncover and unleash the hidden power of Passion in our employees, to harness and direct this passion towards a common shared goal. Just imagine, if you will, for a moment what your team could achieve this year if they were as passionately involved and focused as the organisation I mentioned earlier.

Kofi Annan said To live is to choose. But to choose, you must know who you are and what you stand for, where you want to go, and why you want to get there.
In business our Mission and Values statements spell out who we are and what we stand for, Our Vision statement gives where we want to go, and our Strategy gives us the how. But the why is missing.

Passion is the why!!

Luck Is What Happens When

Law of Attraction - 10-Common "Attraction-Mistakes" People Make

If you don't think the Law of Attraction is working for you, then try and understand that the Law works the same for everybody - we just don't all put the same kinds of thoughts and feelings into our desires. Everyone uses their thought processes in different ways; different thoughts generate different results. People who are successful at creating and manifesting their dreams and desires are people who think about their plans and desires in a certain way. But people who don't seem to be getting what they want in life also think about the things they want in a certain way - and each kind of thinking bears its own kind of fruit.

People who are successful and creative typically think in terms of possibilities, opportunities, and success; they think of the worst-possible outcome, for any given situation, only long enough to make decisions about the future - never dwelling on "worst-case scenarios" after a decision has been made. People who complain that prayers aren't answered, and the Law of Attraction doesn't work, on the other hand, have a tendency to dwell on the worst thing imaginable - shooting themselves in the foot, where the Law of Attraction is concerned, by maintaining a more negative emotional state.

If you can identify negative or limiting thought-patterns and behaviors within yourself that are holding you back, you can take steps to eliminate them using prayer, meditation, or an Energy Psychology technique like Gary Craig's Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), or Grant Connolly's Z-Point Process. The first step in eliminating negative thoughts and behaviors is to recognize negative thoughts and actions when they arise.

Here's a list of 10-common Law of Attraction mistakes that can keep your dreams at bay:

  1. Thinking about what you don't want rather than what you do want
  2. Spending more time thinking negative thoughts than you do thinking "positively"
  3. Being impatient
  4. Not thinking about what you want
  5. Not doing what you love - not maintaining a positive mental/emotional state
  6. Declaring that the Law of Attraction doesn't work, or prayers aren't answered
  7. Not being specific about what you want
  8. Trying to control outcomes and change physical conditions with force
  9. Thinking, or worrying, too much about what you might be doing wrong
  10. Being Judgmental, Unforgiving, Ungrateful, and/or Unappreciative

Any of these things will put you in a negative state rather than a positive one; and your "vibration" will be one of stress rather than joy, relaxation, and healing. If you find yourself thinking or doing any of the things from this list, you may be able to receive the experience you have been trying to attract by simply letting-go of the "negative" behavior, or replacing it with the "positive" version - for example, spending more time thinking positively than negatively, or being very specific about your desire. When you have removed these self-limiting behaviors, and are clear about your heart's desire, there will be nothing between you and your dreams.

How to Get Happy, Get Money, Get it All - Overcome This Negative Habit

Depressed about money? Depressed about your health, your circumstances? How does depression help you out of the hole you feel you have dug for yourself? How does depression resolve situations? Here's the answer.

Depression is a dark feeling which keeps you depressed.

What is this thing called depression? It's a feeling. It's a feeling you decided should be part of your repertoire of feelings. You picked it up along the way. You saw someone use it. You decided to put it in as a tool in your life.

It's a decision you made as a very young child. Maybe when you were a baby. When you made that decision you didn't know any better. Isn't it time to reconsider your decision to choose depression?

Ask yourself a question.

How does depression help me?

How does depression solve the circumstances that made me depressed? You quickly see. Depression doesn't give you a solution. Otherwise, circumstances would have already changed or you would know how to deal with them effectively.

Depression contains lot of negative feelings. It makes you mad. It makes you sad. It tells you to beat yourself up. Depression makes you live in regret. All of that is negative. How does that help you?

Negative feelings drag you down. Do negative feelings fix whatever depressed you? Do negative feelings make you happy?

How can you go UP by going down?

Many people like to live in a state of depression They saw people around them living in depression as a baby. They decided depression is the way to live.

Depression is a drag. It drags you in the opposite direction of good. You want to have abundant money, vibrant health, lasting, loving relationships. You want to be happy. You want peace of mind with no stress. That's in the direction of high energy. It's in the direction of up.

Depression is low energy and the direction is down.

In Ancient Greek mythology the mermaids lured the sailors over to the rocks. The sailors sailed over and met their destruction on the rocks.

Old feelings, you put in a long time ago, such as depression are mermaids. They're a bad habit that lures you into depression and crashes you into the rocks.

Be vigilant. See the mermaids of depression The mermaids may be alluring. However, they possess negative feelings which then possess you if you embrace them. See the mermaids of depression luring you over to the rocks. Sail your ship in the opposite direction. Sail away from the rocks and out into the freedom of the open seas. Sail away from the rocks.

Decide to be positive in spite of any circumstance.

That's how to change your circumstances and spin your life upward.

From Greedy to Grateful - Appreciating What You Have

Not everyone is greedy, but most of us expect a lot out of life and often forget to be grateful for what we have already achieved and obtained. We seem to quickly jump from one accomplishment to the next. We go from receiving good things that we enjoy only briefly to quickly pursuing the next good thing we want. We are, for the most part, a pretty needy and wanting bunch of beings.

If you're at all familiar with the Law of Attraction (LOA), you know that it states that what you put your attention on you attract to you. When you are grateful for what you have, you will be more apt to attract more good to you. When you are greedy and constantly wanting more and the next best thing, you are not stopping to be grateful for what you just received. You are not even taking time to celebrate your success, to enjoy the accomplishment, to revel in having it. What you appreciate, appreciates. That is, what you offer gratitude for grows and more comes your way.

For example, say you wanted a promotion at work and you got it. Instead of making a party for your co-workers or family, you're already thinking about how you can get the next promotion. It's a never-ending list of "gimme's" when you don't offer gratitude. Gimme that new car, gimme that new suit, gimme that vacation. It's all right to want tangible objects and activities in our life that make us feel good, that we feel we've earned by our hard work. However, we become greedy when we don't take time to acknowledge all that we are getting and all that we have.

And if we throw a tantrum when we don't get what we want, that is certainly not being grateful, and we are less likely to get it. If you want to live your life by applying the LOA, you need to be grateful, offer blessings and thanks for what you have now, and more will be added to you. A grateful heart attracts, while a greedy one repels.

A great practice for giving gratitude, which I share with my life coaching clients, is to write in a daily success journal. Every night before going to sleep, write down five things you are grateful for. What was wonderful about your day? Who did you touch? Who touched you? How did you serve? How did you make a difference? What good came into your life? The small things are just as important as the bigger ones.

Are you grateful for your family, friends, pets, house, car, clothes, work, prosperity, health, and more? Write these in your journal as a way of appreciating what you have. Not only will you attract more good, but you will feel good. You will feel filled up with all you already have. Your grateful heart will replace your greedy one.

I am grateful for the moments I share with my wife and children. I'm also grateful for my profession as a life coach, which allows me to help people live better lives. Most of all, I'm grateful that I always have the ability to change.

How about you? What are you grateful for?

My Divine Purpose

Questions and Answers about My Divine Purpose

My Divine purpose is to help the world to know it's Self.

What is the best way to achieve this?
The best way to achieve this is through example.

Can you explain a little more what this means?
The way you live your life and interact with the people in the world.

Am I doing the right thing at the moment?
Yes you are one of the leaders of new spirituality and as such you have to break the mould. This is why you often feel strained and why you need lots of rest.
The work you are doing is so important and will have major repercussions for the world and mankind. I know that I have gone through many changes and I feel the presence of spirit around me.

Are there ways I can make a better connection to spirit?
Yes you can be yourself, relax as much as possible and know that you are already doing the most important work you could be doing. I appreciate the work that we are doing together: I understand the importance of feeling connected to spirit and the universe.

Are there any techniques, which I can use to improve this connection?
Yes you could focus more on your feelings and feel the subtle depths of that spiritual connection.
By becoming more aware of the Self at these subtle levels you breathe awareness into that level of consciousness and make it available to everyone.

Are other people helping me with this work around the World?
You know there are: You can feel your connection to them and speak to them at any time.

Would it help to speak more to them?
Silence contains all the speech you need: Silence contains the whole. Speech brings the mind to the point of focus but silence has the power and the connection.

Spirituality is a Lifestyle

We are all spirit by nature; therefore all that we do is spiritual. However, being spiritual is a lifestyle that we create while we experience the physical world.

Getting back to nature and being one with all things is spiritual for some, while chanting mantras and meditating several hours a day and being spiritually connected to others is spirituality for others. But the truth is, spirituality is a choice of lifestyle as is being Christian, Buddhist, an atheist or anything else. It is a way of life that includes symbols and rituals that represent a way of life that we imagine as spirituality.

When I first started channeling and writing about spirituality and trying to find my own spiritual awareness, I imagined I would be levitating a foot above the ground as I walked down the street. I imagined I would be seeing things others did not, and I would have great intuition and wisdom. People would be drawn to me for advice and clarification of their purpose. Well, some do that, but it is nothing more than that which happens everyday with anyone else. All of us are being spiritual; being somebody.

Simplicity seems to be synonymous with being spiritual. Many spiritually aware people choose to live simpler lives, but it does not mean that they are more spiritual than someone with a complicated or busy lifestyle. Spirituality is a lifestyle that we make up. It is a philosophy or direction/path that we choose to experience. It is just another box that we find ourselves in everyday.

Because one third of our entire being is spirit, we cannot even choose to be spiritual; it is what we are anyways. So spending our lives trying to be something that we already are can only be a lifestyle choice. In the course of practicing spirituality what we are in fact trying to do is to become more "spiritually aware." We are trying to connect to spirit and its purpose and to be in harmony with that purpose. Knowing what our destiny is and aligning ourselves with it brings greater power and resolve to manifest it in this lifetime.

To say that a person is really spiritual implies that they are more spiritual than another. That is not correct. It simply means that one may be more connected with spirit or more "spiritually aware." It is something we all have to wake up to. We are spirit first, having a physical experience. But we did not come here to have a spiritual experience, but to have a physical experience. No one knows what spirit is. Being spirit is different that being spiritual. One is a thing, the other is an experience. It is not possible to define or experience being a thing unless you are that thing.

Many people believe that spirituality empowers us to use our psychic abilities, but that is not the case either. There are many people who display psychic abilities who do not live a life of spirituality. Psychic abilities are once again physical attributes because they can be seen, heard, smelled, felt or tasted. They are extensions of what we already do and they can be developed and experienced physically by anyone. The use of psychic abilities does not make us anymore spiritual than we already are.

Being spiritual is being the way you are now; being natural. It is more correct to say that I am spirit, being Roy. And it is natural for Roy to say that "I am" being this or that. We live within the illusion of the separation of spirit and Roy, but really it is the spirit saying "I am" Roy. The spirit is really the middleman between mind and body; it is the energy which gives animation to the body.

Spirituality is a physical manifestation of our thoughts about what spirit is, and what it does. Nothing can take us to spirit, whether it is religion, faith or spirituality. The only way to get there is to be there, and to know it as absolute. While you are practicing, training or living the lifestyle, you are not there, you are experiencing getting there.

For a Christian, Muslim, Jew, Mormon, Buddhist or the spiritually enlightened to say they have found the way is arrogant, and pretentious. If you are on the path - you are not there. As a race of beings, we take ourselves much too seriously. The simplicity of spirit is to be what you already are and not something you are trying to be.

In the process of writing this article, I am being spiritual naturally; I am spirit being a writer. I have chosen to live the spiritual lifestyle that I have created, because it gives me a different perspective on my environment. But I am no more spiritual than anyone else. It is simply an expression of how I feel and my thoughts about the physical life and the circumstances that I have created.

Writers, philosophers, and artists simply express themselves publicly. Their spiritual inspiration comes from an open connection with spirit and mind, very much like what you are doing every day in your chosen lifestyle. Your inspiration comes from the same place, although you may not physically express it as spirituality. These people's thoughts are manifested through a filter of spirituality, rather than religion, mysticism, fear or something else.

Living my chosen lifestyle of spirituality has not excused me from human emotion or physical restrictions. I live in a physical world and I am subject to all things physical. My spiritual insight helps me to see a bigger picture and interact with the environment differently than others. The same can be said for any lifestyle. But none of the things I have chosen in this lifetime can or will prepare me to be a spirit being after death. They are two different realms of existence and one can only experience them while they are one or the other.

We are faced with many choices everyday, what we choose will determine a new experience that cannot be experienced the same way in any other time or place. We make these choices most of the time based on our chosen lifestyle. Lifestyles are little boxes that we live in, and they go no where. To fully evolve to the next step, you must choose another box and continue choosing. The very meaning of life is motion, and it is continuous. What you choose tomorrow does not negate your past choices; they are simply sign posts that you have moved on. Every choice is another step in your development.

Your old thoughts about whom and what you are represent pieces in a museum. You observe them and marvel at how far you have come. You can see where you have been and were you are going. You do not go to a museum to condemn the past but to marvel at it. Spirituality is a choice and a lifestyle; not an end unto itself. What you are now and how you have chosen to express it is a signpost or landmark for you and others. However, you are not here to learn anything but to experience all that it has to offer. When you have matured enough in your belief you will move on despite you own best efforts not to. But don't look back at it as a mistake or a wasted life. Try to remember that it has brought you to this point and you are ready to experience something else.

From my perspective it would appear that humanity has stalled in its own spiritual development. Nothing much about human spirituality has changed since time began. That observation comes from a place in time and space that does not see the whole picture. It is a limited physical judgment.

It is because humanity is already spiritual and there is nothing to change; it is why he does not see it. He does not have to find what he already is. His only purpose here is to experience all things physical, he is a "spiritual being," experiencing physical life, and this is not a school where he has to learn anything. He is simply experiencing his thoughts about what it is to be physical in his own unique way.

Spirit, spiritual, and spirituality are not the same things. However, they are connected through the physical experience and our own thoughts about what they are.

While you are here, seek to better your life. Know that it is you who is creating all the circumstances of your life and that only you have the power to change it. Get out of any box that is not working for you and move on. Become away of your spirit and your destiny and your life will be filled with abundance. Life will be less of a struggle and filled with anticipation and happiness. Never allow anyone to lead you down the garden path by suggesting that they know the way or that their way is the only way. No one can ever know your way or your destiny and purpose.

Where ever or whatever you are now is appropriate for you at this time and space. When you discover that it is no longer working for you, you will change your circumstances or you will remain and experience complaining about it. There is no right or wrong way to express yourself; there is just your way. Your circumstances will always demonstrate physically what you are thinking about yourself and your relationship to others and your environment.

You are the creator, just look around you and see how your environment fits into you belief system. Look at the people, places and things that surround you. This is spirit, your spirit in physical form; your manifestation. Do you like what you see, does it bring you peace, good health, abundance and fulfillment. If not, why not and what are you waiting for. Who do you think is going to change it for you? There is no person or thing that is greater or has more power than you to change your life. Be what you are naturally. Be the grandest version of the greatest vision you will ever have about who and what you are or not!

The Ancient Portals of Heaven by David Herzog

Find Supernatural Power Through Ancient Pathways to God's Glory

"The Ancient Portals of Heaven" guides the reader into supernatural resurrection power by helping them enter into spiritual gateways called the portals of heaven.

Herzog has done thorough and extensive research on interesting obscured historical information, archaeological discoveries, and scientific facts of the advanced wisdom in Israel, especially during the days of King Solomon's reign. Herzog uses personal stories of "exercising kingdom authority" as well as stories from many others who tell of direct encounters with Jesus.

Ancient geographical portals are described as locations today where a portal to Heaven was opened in ancient times. Many of these portals still exist today to those who have the right of entry. The cities of Jerusalem, Bethel, Galilee, and Eden are examples of these portals. Each of these cities has a unique supernatural identity as a portal of healing, miraculous phenomena, signs, covenants, restoration, or salvation.

There are seasonal portals as well as the geographical which include the feasts of God, or the Jewish feasts. These are available to anyone all believers. Celebrating the Feast of Weeks, the Feast of the Tabernacles, Passover, or the Lord's Day can result in Great glory.

"The Ishmael-Muslim" connection is both interesting and helpful in light of world events today. It is significant that the eyes of the world are being focused on the Middle East today. It was refreshing to read of Herzog's involvement in Worldwide Harvest in Israel, Indonesia, and Malaysia.

"The Ancient Portals of Heaven" is well documented, skillfully written, and persuasively expressed. The reader is lifted into heavenly places of glory, favor, and blessing. This is an important addition to Herzog's other writings on the mystery of glory unveiled.

How to Be Happy in 7 Easy Steps

Happy people don't just feel good, they are good for other people too. Studies show that happy people give more and practice universal virtues more. Feeling happy is good for us too- improving our health by improving the body's chemical balance. Science confirms what spiritual leaders and philosophers have always known, happiness can be learned. Try these 7 easy steps to be happier now.

1. Develop close relationships with friends and family.

Scientist have shown that a social network including some close relationships and a large variety of other relationships is one of the strongest correlations for a happy life.

2. Choose work you like to do and is meaningful to you

We can generate those exhilarating, peak moments by engaging fully in something with clear goals that we are good at and that challenges us. When our accomplishments can be used to benefit others or to generate a paycheck, they can be doubly satisfying.

3. Choose hobbies you enjoy

Just like work, our hobbies can generate those peak moments and satisfying engagement too.

4. Choose your thoughts

We become what we think about most often. Happy people actively choose to appreciate what they have, look for solutions more than problems, and express gratitude and forgiveness.

5. Choose to Give

Study after study has shown that happy people are more likely to give to others and that giving to others makes us happy. In fact, we often find we are attracted to people who give to others.

6. Choose a Spiritual life

Studies have shown a strong correlation between strong spiritual beliefs and higher life satisfaction. Churches also become communities that provide people with rich social connections. Even without an organized church, every major religion in the world values many of the same virtues like compassion and appreciation and these positive emotions are all closely associated with happiness.

7. Manage your health and your money enough to stay in good health and out of chronic pain and poverty.

Rich people and middle class people, healthy people and unhealthy people all report about the same level of happiness, but people in chronic pain or living in poverty are less happy.

These easy steps show you how to be happy by making happier choices for your life. You will be happier by leaving work on time and meeting your friends than staying late to chase that raise or bonus. Choose a job you enjoy that involves work you are good at instead of one that you dislike just because the money is a little better. Or, if you have an unsatisfying job, find hobbies that use your talents and strengths. So now that you know how to be happy, make some choices for a happy life today.

For more tips on how to be happy, explore http://www.happylifeu.com. Susan McMillin is the founder of Happy Life U, a website dedicated to helping you be happier now.

Benefits Of A Bad Childhood

Goals That Come True!

Setting goals is a very important thing to do in your life. But, setting a goal does not guarantee that it will actually happen. Just writing a goal down on paper does not make it come true. What can you do to make sure that your goals DO come true?

First of all, you have to make your goals more than just wishes or hopes. They have to excite you and create a compelling drive so that you are motivated and inspired to make sure that they do happen. You also have to make sure that you are 100 percent committed to yourself and your goals.

DO NOT MAKE WISHES...

Your goals have to be just that--goals. They can not be things that you wish would happen or things that you just dream about happening. No matter what, you can be guaranteed that there are going to be setbacks in your life. There are going to be roadblocks between you and your goals.

But, you can get past these roadblocks if you are 100 percent committed to achieving your goals. Action is key. No one has ever achieved their desires by simply dreaming or wishing for them to happen. There are no magic words you can recite that will make your dreams just appear before you.

You have to be willing to get up and take action so that they do happen. Otherwise, your goals really are nothing more than just wishes or hopes. Keep yourself committed and get up and get moving closer towards what you really do want in life.

Goal Setting Or Goal Achieving - What's More Important?

The concept of goal setting has been taught for centuries and it has been used by professional athletes, business men and women, and individuals who want to be do or have more in life. But how many people know there is a huge difference between goal setting and goal achieving?

When you think about it, the concept of setting goals is not too difficult. It is simply a matter of identifying or writing downs what you want in the short term and long term. The SMART concept has been used quite commonly which stands for:

S - Specific
M - Measurable
A - Attainable
R - Realistic
T - Timely or Time Frame

If you are reading this article, I would imagine that you already know something about the importance of having goals, and how goals help you stay focused and motivated. When you understand how to set effective goals, then it will be so much easier to stay on track.

However, you've probably had goals in the past that you've accomplished and you've probably had many goals which you've never accomplished. You might be wondering why is that so many people set goals and never achieve them.

Most people don't really understand that there is a difference between goal setting and goal achieving. Goal setting and goal achieving are completely two different activities, and we should understand that.

Goal setting is an intellectual exercise. You have an intellectual or thinking mind. When you set a goal, you should give absolutely no thought to how you are going to achieve it. Most people in setting a goal get lost in how am I going to make this happen. How you are going to make it happen is irrelevant until you decide you are going to make it happen. So when you set a goal, don't be concerned with the resources you've got, don't be concerned with where the money is going to come from.

When you are setting a goal, there is one prerequisite: Do I want it? Don't set a goal you know you can do or you think you can do. It's do I want it? That's the only prerequisite. And there should be absolutely no thought given to how you are going to get it.

Goal achieving is a totally different concept. It is when you decide this is what I want and you are committed to getting it. You then get emotionally involved with that idea. You commit to that idea. And it's got to be a binding commitment. You then turn that idea over to the universal sub-conscious mind. That is the spiritual side of you. Now the spiritual side or the universal side of you operates by Law. It never changes. It operates exactly the same way with person in every place. When you turn your idea over to your universal sub-conscious mind, by Law, that idea begins to move into form.

Here's what Napoleon Hill wrote in his phenomenal book, "Think and Grow Rich." "When reading aloud the statement of your desire, the mere reading of the words is of no consequence - unless you mix emotion, or feeling, with your words. Without mixing emotion and faith with your words, you will experience no desirable results. Your subconscious mind recognizes and acts only upon thoughts which have been well-mixed with emotion or feeling."

Right there is the difference between goal setting and goal achieving. Unless you are emotionally involved with you goal, that being what you really want, the chances of you achieving it is very slim. This leads into a whole new discussion of why we set goals and how do you set goals. I would venture to say that more people are making a number of common mistakes when it comes to setting goals, which ultimately determines whether they will achieve their goals or not.

There is a powerful program called the Goal Achiever program by Bob Proctor and in that program, it goes into so much more depth into the concept of setting and achieving goals. Once a person has been through that program, there will be absolutely no doubt in their mind as to what needs to be done to achieve any goal they choose.

The #1 Reason Biggest Losers Lose So Much Weight - Do You Want to Know Why?

Motivation is the #1 reason Biggest Loser helps people take control of their lives. Being motivated inspires people to greatness. These people are great and they show us what human beings are really made of. After having serious weight problems most of their adult lives, they embark on a journey that challenges every fiber in their body. Their minds are on overdrive as they have to put out their best. All of them cling to each other for the support and the inspiration it takes to do the impossible. This is not a put on, it's real life.

Motivation is the #1 reason people show us how to bethe bestyou can be. There are no super humans on this show. Their are only ordinary people doing extraordinary feats. We often assume that you need to be special to do something like this. You don't need to be special, you need to be willing to give of yourself to others and let others get inside your space. We are so self centered todaythat werefuse to let others come into our zone. That is what family is all about and the people on this show bond and form an extended family. They will havethis unique bond forthe rest of there lives. The individual in you is gone when you want to help yourself. You just need to throw that independent switch on "off" to accept what you aren't able to accept know.

One of the definitions of motivation isthe psychological feature that arouses an organism to action toward a desired goal; the reason for the action. When you get out of bed in the morning, you are oftenin a state of mind that does not "motivate" you to take action. You would just as soon go back to bed and sleepit off? The action of getting up and going about your daily activities needs motivation. Your brain needs to send a message to your body to take action. Youneed a goal with an objective to be motivated to continue. We often fail to realize that the lack of motivation is preventing us from going forward. Find the motivation and you can be the best you. Food for thought.

Working With Good Communication

Have you ever heard the phrase "we just can't communicate?" We just don't get along anymore and we never did anyway or what about, she just doesn't understand me. Most people identify communication with the ability to read or write well. This might not be the case as you will soon find out.

How many times have you been to the doctor's office and listen to an educated professional explain something to you that just doesn't make any sense. These people keep asking you, "Do you understand," Am I making myself clear and sometimes out of embarrassment because you don't want to look like an idiot you tell them yes I do understand. This isn't a good way to communicate either.

How do we communicate in a positive way to get our point across? I'm going to share a secret that works time and time again and some very successful communicators use this often. Ask the person you are communicating with if they understand what you just said, if someone is talking to you then use the statement, "Just to Make Sure That I Understand What You Just Said" and then repeat back your understanding of their conversation.

Sometimes just asking a view simple questions and clarifying your understanding can bring great benefits to any communication.

In some countries like Japan for instance you might find them reading your body language more than the words you are communicating with. Sometimes just by the way someone stands or reacts to something you said can give you a valuable insight to what can be understood in the conversation.

Don't forget however this could lead to a misunderstanding also. Again if you think someone understands how you are communicating with their body language, try not to assume that you know for a fact how they are reacting. Always ask them if they understand what you're talking about.

A person is responsible for what he says and to make sure that the other person understands completely the point he is trying to get across. I don't know how many times I have mentioned something to someone only later to find out there was a problem with my communication.

One of the greatest problems in business, marriage and most relationships are poor communication skills. Why not start using some of the simple skills used in this article to help with communication. You will start to see the benefits within a short period.

How do we do it? Why do we do it? And when are we going to change? How do we change our lives to become fulfilling sources of extreme happiness and joy. What is it going to take to open your eyes and finally seek the information you need.

If you're looking for a secret to happiness or a missing piece to the puzzle you quite possibly could find what you're looking for but no guarantees at spiritual books.

What Do We Mean by "Spiritual Relationships?"

"WIFFM" is the primary motivator for many people in their relationships. WIFFM is a marketing term for "What's In It For Me?" We have been taught to value people for how good they will look on our arm, how close they come to our fantasy of the ideal lover, or how we imagine they will fulfill our desires. It's about how it all looks, right? Except that when we focus on the outside, nobody is going to be good enough because everyone is flawed. Everybody. This is why we love the tabloids -- we get to see seemingly perfect celebrities with their defects hanging out.

One characteristic of a spiritual relationship is that instead of focusing on the other person's exterior, we focus on the perfection within. Just as we all have not-so-beautiful parts on the outside, we all have a perfect core inside at our center. When we want our relationship to have a spiritual component, we attempt to keep our attention on this perfection within, rather concentrating on what's outside.

The great Tantra Master Osho once said regarding relationships, "The Other is always right." I was stunned when I first heard this. Like most people, I had been constantly pointing out when I was right and my partner was wrong, all in the name of "communicating honestly." In retrospect it was all a thinly disguised power struggle.

I argued with Osho's statement in my mind, and then decided to see what I could learn from it. As a technique, I recommend it highly. You don't have to agree with it to experiment. Practice interpreting that the other was right and you were wrong next time you are reviewing a fight or disagreement. The ego spends all its time proving that it is superior. See what happens from the perspective of love.

When you begin this discipline of seeing what is right about the other person rather than what is, according to you, wrong, you may start to experience your partner as your teacher, or guru. Some of the other attributes of spiritual relationships that people have mentioned are a placing a high value on listening, integrity, emotional openness, sensitivity, truth, having a raise the bar attitude, and having a passion for learning and growing. When people's lives are dedicated to something higher than just getting their own needs met, their relationships will follow suit. This can show up as a dedication to make the world a better place by working for the environment, helping kids, or serving some other higher calling. Your relationship will be dedicated to something more important than merely trying to get your needs met, and this is what we call a spiritual relationship.

If Egos are So Bad, Why Do We Have One?

Why do we have an Ego?

Almost all spiritual guides say that we must eliminate or dispose of our ego before we can reach enlightenment. If this is true, then why did our creator burden us with an ego to start with? Would it not have saved considerable struggle just to let us be born with only a spiritual side and not have an ego to fight with all the time? A fight that most people seen to loose.

What is the ego anyway? The ego is that part of us that makes us separate from other people and things. It is the opposite of oneness that most spiritualists are trying to achieve. The ego is, as the Taoist express, the ten thousand things. So then why do we need one?

The ego allows me to be different from you even though we are made from the same dirt. Namaste. The ego is built from our individual histories or dharma. No two can be alike.

The ego expresses the opposite of the unifying field that leads to enlightenment. We tend to look at the ego as bad and oneness as good. However, the Taoist teach that nothing is either good no bad, it just is. So the ego cannot be bad or evil, it just is. So, why do we have to destroy it to get where we want to be?

If we look at the ego as one extreme and the all encompassing oneness as the other, we see that as humans living in physical bodies that our path lies somewhere between the extremes. When we were created is was so that the creator could experience life in as many different ways as possible. The ego defines each of the infinite different ways. As long as we realize that the ego is just part of the continuum between oneness and the individual, then we can stop wasting our energy fighting our ego and let out lives flow naturally between the extremes of ourselves as different and our selves as part of the whole.

The Gift of Appreciation

Gratitude: a feeling of thankful appreciation for favors or benefits received.
Appreciation: sensitive awareness or enjoyment.

I remember as a very young girl going into the Woolworths Dime Store in my home town perusing the aisles for that perfect Mother's Day or Christmas present for my mom. What exquisite present could I find for my whole $2.00? After careful and thoughtful consideration, I proudly purchased a bottle of Evening in Paris perfume. As the momentous occasion arrived, I could hardly contain my self as my mom opened up her present from me. Her eyes would light up as she handled the little blue bottle and would lovingly say "Well thank you, that's just what I wanted".

When you speak the words "Thank you" you go beyond the definition of those words and embark on an intentional journey of the heart where you gather, collect and reflect on what benefits everyone. As you give thanks and when gratitude comes from the heart, there is strength to speak your truth, there is clarity as you speak and there is fortitude to continue on the path of Gratitude and Appreciation. "Be impeccable with your word" notes Don Miguel Ruiz in the Four Agreements and in gratitude you can be your word and you can live as love. Now my mom may not have been thrilled with this bottle of inexpensive dime store perfume but she recognized the thought and emotion in which it was given and was appreciative for that.

There is great power in listening to others as they say thank you or express gratitude. Listen to the nuances and the energy of the gift of Gratitude that resides in each syllable, each word, and each letter. The Law of Attraction is accelerated as you appreciate the gifts others give you and opens a beautiful energy portal of support.

In this electronic age, often the written thank you card or letter is forgotten. Writing a thank you note to someone who has been kind to you, given you time or support or made a difference in your life is a wonderful and beautiful way to express thanks.

Invitation: To whom can you say thank you to that may make your life easier on a daily basis or who are you grateful for? Let them know or write them a heartfelt letter. The Gift of Gratitude ripples out forever.

10 Tips For Great Goal Setting

Less than 3% of people write down their goals. We are statistically more likely to spend time organising exactly what we want from the supermarket instead of working out what we want from life. Crazy but true.

The chances are that you commit most of your working day to helping your boss to achieve their goals, instead of spending time working on your own.

One way to enhance the quality of your life is to learn how to apply an effective goal setting program. These tips will help you on your way to doing this.

1. First of all why set goals?

The biggest predictor of success is direction. If you dont have something to aim for in life, the chances are you will end up achieving very little. Almost every successful person in the world started with a clearly defined goal in their mind of what it is they wanted to achieve. This provided them with a fundamental sense of purpose and direction.

The beauty of setting goals is that they help to streamline your life, adding a focal point and something tangible for you to work towards.

In some ways goals are like beacons helping you to stride through life towards something that holds special importance to you. What that special something is, is up to you.

2. Working out what you want

It amazes me how many people work towards goals that they dont really want.

Usually the motivation to achieve these goals comes from a feeling that you should want them. Fame, recognition, and a high status job, are some of the modern day desires that society conditions people to think that they want.

It is important that all goals and aspirations come only from a place of wanting and not from a place of should.

When you cut out all the noise that society deafens you with, and directly ask yourself, what is it that you want? honestly and whole heartedly, you are able to generate goals that come from a place of inspiration, and not from a place of conditioning.

It is from inspiration that all worthwhile goals are created. When you work from here your commitment to your goals is full of desire, passion, and zest.

Set goals based on your values

Working out what your goals are is often the hardest part of the goal setting procedure, and the part which requires most thought.

The first step to working out what you want is to establish what is important to you in life.

If for example you value your friends and family above anything else, then it makes sense to set a life goal of spending as much quality time with these people as possible.

If financial independence is valued highly you may chose to construct a goal that focuses on reaching a specific sum of money within a set time frame.

Ask yourself a series of incisive questions that force you to address who you are and what is important to you in your life.

Consider answering the questions below and start devising goals around the answers you produce:

What would you want to achieve if you knew you could not fail?

If you could leave one message to the world what would it be?

Who are you when you are at your best?

If you had one day to live, what would you do?

The responses to these questions should provide you with some information about what is important to you in your life and aid the goal setting process.

3. How will you know when you have reached your goal?

Your goal needs to be clear and precise so that you know exactly when you have reached it. One way to do this is to set the goal as a numerical figure. If you can produce a clear yes, or no response to whether you have reached your goal then you have successfully created a measurable objective.

For example, consider the goal of generating a financial target of ?100,000 by the end of the year. The numerical and precise nature of your goal allows you to effectively evaluate whether or not you have successfully reached your target when the end of the year arrives.

4. Does your goal make you go wow?

It is important that the goal you set is wildly ambitious.

Old schools of thought believe that goal setting should be realistic and attainable, avoiding excessive ambition. On the surface this makes perfect sense, because you want to set goals that you have a good chance of hitting. And arguably, failing to hit your goals because of aiming too high may leave you feeling little despondent.

The reason why I suggest that goals should be set as high and as ambitious as possible, is because there is no logical reason why you cannot achieve whatever it is that you want.

It is only through your negative internal belief systems that you decide what is and what isnt realistic. Years of conditioning, of being told what you can and cannot achieve have encouraged us to construct a warped view of our true potential.

This is why unrealistic and wild goals ironically are sometimes closer to what is realistically possible compared to your conditioned view on what is realistic.

If you set the ambitious goal of making ?1,000,000 in 1 year, work with dedication and drive and end up making ?600,000, I am pretty sure that you will not feel despondent at the end of the year.

It is certainly better than aiming to make ?50,000 within the year, and hitting the target easily, without having to push yourself in any way.

Aim for the stars and you will catch the moon

5. Have you written down your goal?

Once you have precisely and clearly established what it is that you want to aim for, write it down.

Your goal needs to be written down in a specific style in order to be successful.

Although goals are inherently in the future write your goal in the present tense. For example; instead of writing I will have a successful business, write I have a successful business. This will add immediate impact to the strength of your goal.

The second point is to make sure when you write down your goal it is something you want instead of something you dont want.

If you focus your energies on what you dont want unfortunately you will attract what you dont want into your life.

It is always more powerful to move towards something, instead of away from something.

For example wanting to make more money is much more effective than focusing on getting out of debt.

6. Is any goal better than having none at all?

Even if you do not master an effective goal setting program at your first attempt, devising a bad goal setting program is better than producing nothing.

Setting any kind of goal is better than relying on the lap of the gods to decide your fate.

Teddy Roosevelt once said, in any moment of a decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing.

Even if you obtain a goal that you realise you did not actually want, at least you are one step closer to finding what it is you really want. As Tom Watson (Founder of IBM) famously said; if you want to be a success, double your rate of failure.

7. Have you fallen into the trap of setting too many goals?

An easy trap to fall into is setting too many goals. Successful people usually only set one goal at a time. This focuses their efforts on one target, speeding up the actualisation of their goal. Once the first goal is completed, you can then look to tackle your next one.

If you set too many goals in your life, the danger is that your focal powers will become so spread out that you end up achieving nothing. As the old proverb states; if you chase two rabbits both will escape.

8. Are you in the right state?

The meaning of the word goal is outlined as a clearly and well defined measurable state. The goals you aim to achieve in life-whether it is to marry and have a family, to build a multi-million pound business, or own a mansion in the middle of the country are strong motivations because of the way you envisage they will make you feel once you have obtained them.

If you believe that having a multi-million pound business will make you feel secure, powerful, and liberated, then these desired states are the driving force behind obtaining the goal..

Physical experiences are a bit like vehicles that are designed to take you from your current state to your desired state.

Before setting out to make your dream become a reality it is important that you associate with the internal state that you will experience once you have obtained your goal.

For example if building a multi-million pound business will make you feel secure and liberated, it is important that you generate these emotional states before you begin building your empire.

This will optimise and speed up the process of actualising your goal.

9. Have you taken action?

Unaccompanied, all the ideas in the world are worth nothing. However if you couple ideas with productive action, then your innovations can begin to take form.

It is common for people to spend a significant amount of time constructing worthwhile goals, but if you are not prepared to act on these intentions then nothing will ever be achieved.

All successful people have one thing in common; they get more done in the time given to them, than most people.

Whatever lofty idea you have in mind, you must begin working towards it the moment that your goal has been set.

It is important to develop a sense of accountability and commitment towards taking action, otherwise you may find that you talk yourself out of making your goals a reality.

10. Do you have a deadline?

Remember to give yourself a deadline to achieve your goal, otherwise you could end up spending a lifetime working towards it. Without setting a deadline you run the risk of becoming a procrastinator, always putting off the things you need to do. By constructing a concise time plan you streamline your focus, making sure that every second of your time up to this date is dedicated and organised to achieving your aim.

Remember: A goal is a dream with a deadline

Conclusion

If you are going to be successful, you need to make sure that you live your life with a real sense of purpose and direction. Creating goals is one of the most effective ways to do this.

5 Secrets For Breaking Your Bad Habits

By nature, we are all creatures of habit. We instinctively adopt familiar routines for most activities. We eat about the same number of meals each day - at more or less the same times. We have a regular pattern of sleeping - unless it is perturbed by illness or shift work. Most everything we do is habitual.

You probably eat three meals each day, but why? Why not two or five? There is nothing particularly "natural" about our pattern of eating three meals each day - it is just a habit that we share with most of those around us. Actually, a number of studies indicate that eating five smaller meals is more satisfying and healthier than eating three large ones.

You will always have habits - things you do regularly and without conscious thought - but you do have the ability to CHOOSE your habits. Here's how...

1. Begin to pay attention to WHAT you do, WHEN you do it, and WHY you do it. One of the bad habits I fell into was eating a large dish of ice cream in the late evening. Obviously, "ice cream" was the "what," but the "when" was more than just "in the evening." "When" was times I felt stressed, hadn't had a satisfying dinner, or was bored. "Why" was mouth sensation, having something to do with my hands, and sometimes hunger.

2. Keep a journal of the "what", "when," and "why." Make an entry whenever you find yourself doing something that isn't really your choice. You will find that you gain better insight into the "when's" and "why's" as you get more entries in your journal. Soon a pattern will emerge that can enable you to find healthy habits to replace the harmful ones.

3. Look for other activities that would satisfy the "when" and "why." A hot bath for stress, hard candy for mouth sensation, a good book for activity, a warm bowl of soup for real hunger.

4. Make the undesirable activity difficult. Don't keep the cigarettes or ice cream in the house. When ice cream was in my own freezer, it was hard to resist, but when eating a dish of super chocolate chunk required a trip to the convenience store, it was much easier to turn my attention to other activities and a low calorie snack - if any snack at all.

5. Begin new habits not only because you need them to replace unhealthy ones, but also because they are the things you always wanted to do, but couldn't find the time or money. That book club or yoga class makes a great substitute for the eating or smoking, and you can more than pay for your health club membership with what you save on cigarettes.

4 Things to Remember to Stay Positive

Staying positive is 100% an inner game. It's the thought that goes on in your mind that determines whether you feel positive or not.

Control your thoughts and you will control your feelings. Control both your thoughts and feelings and you will control your life.

This may or may not be easy for you to do. Here are some tips if controlling how you feel is a challenge for you.

1) Think about other people. If you are reading this you probably have a good life. More good then most.

The fact that you are on your computer with internet access, have free time and are old enough to use a computer means you are better off then 4 Billion people.

There's a quote I like, "I once was sad because I had no shoes, until I met a man who had no feet." You are better off then a lot of people and should be grateful.

2) Remember all the good things about your life. Think about your family and friends. Think about the good that's in your life.

If you focus on the bad things, you will have a negative and bad view on life. Focus on the good in your life.

Make a list, write down everything that's great about you and your life. Keep that list with you. Rewrite it a bunch of times.

3) Remember when "God closes a door, he opens the window. If one door closes another one opens.

Don't be so focused on the closed door that you miss the open one. Every struggle comes with it a bigger and better opportunity.

There's good in failure because we learn in failure. The worst thing someone can have in there life is everything they want, and none of the struggle to get it. They will not be happy because they have nothing to compare happiness to.

We all struggle. Embrace it, it's a challenge and when you overcome it, you will be better off.

4) Remember you only lose money when you sell. Especially now during the bad financial times. You only lose when you sell though. Hang in there. This means that the bad, isn't as bad as it seems. It means there is opportunities for you out there. There's a better deal coming.

Bringing Forth Your Own Healing Energy And Your Most Positive Thought Patterns

Here are a few tips to observe your thought patterns. You will need a little notebook, this way you don't waste time in clarifying realistic goals.

What is the last thought you are aware of as you fall asleep? Reflect on this for a few nights, and write down what you remember.

What is the first thing you think when you wake up in the morning? Write down what you remember.

See if there is a pattern here.

If you have a worry-related thought start to change it a little - such as "my worry thought"... "and I'll find a solution for that". Or "God will present a solution to me"....or "but that will get better".

If you can make a bigger leap from your worried thought, think of its opposite - move to an idea, vision, FEELING, that the situation is entirely resolved.

If you have a pleasant thought, or a neutral thought that embraces something you like or are aspiring to, just add to it. '....pleasant thought....plus "and even More than that it is....." your plus vision, FEELING'.

You make the jump you can make. Stretch just a little, and imagine the good feeling of your desired outcome. For some, it is a building on smaller steps, so you don't snap back into disbelieving, feeling like you are faking it.

For instance, Esther Hicks, in the Abraham material suggests "XYZ is true - but wouldn't it be nice if......(it got a little better ). So you make the leap you can make. And then "wouldn't it be nice if it then........(got this much better). You see how it goes.

If you are really stuck in a worry, there are energy techniques you can learn. Don't waste time in manifesting wealth, goodness, and set realistic goals to achieve a balanced life. Maybe part of your goodness will be money beyond belief! Transform your thought patterns with your own healing energy.

Most people read a book and if it's good, they might recommend it to someone else, but if the book is great, you can guarantee they will recommend it to everyone who is interested or who they think might be interested in the book. In the field of personal development, one book comes to mind, it's called, "You Can Have It All" by Arnold Patent.

I found the book in one of our antique thrift stores and paid less than $10 for it, I really didn't think much of it and never heard of Arnold Patent before. We've all heard of Anthony Robbins, Susie Orman, Wayne Dyer, but I never heard of Arnold Patent. I skimmed through the book and it looked like a short read. I read the book in about six hours and plan to reread the book, as soon as I get it back for my daughter. The book has short chapters, most of them less than five pages.

Looking at the short chapters, you could get the impression, that there isn't very much information in each chapter, how could there be with less than five pages and some chapters less than three pages. This was very deceiving to me, because each paragraph, was like a chapter and each chapter was like a small book.

The book is full of tools and advice and combines personal development with spirituality. He has chapters on meditation, energy, enjoying what you love to do for the rest of your life, cause and effect, abundance, attachment, pain and suffering, harmony, karma the past and forgiveness.

I can't tell you what a pleasure it was to read this book and if you're looking for some basics on quite a few motivational, spiritual and laws of attraction topics, this book has almost everything you need to get you interested in changing your life. You could actually read one chapter a day and think about it for the rest of the week, there's that much information in each chapter.

I was reading one of his recommendations and it was from Oprah Winfrey, she said, "It was one of the most important books that I had ever read." That's coming from one of the most successful people in the entertainment business. I stumbled across this book and might not have ever found it, but I'm telling you about it and highly recommend it.

Are Your Goals Worth the Effort?

When you set a goal, it is critical to assess whether the outcome will be worth your time and effort to achieve it. If the benefit is not at least equal to what you put in, then you can say bye-bye to keeping up your motivation levels. If your motivation is low, then it is unlikely that you will achieve your goal.

Here is a rather extreme example. If you wanted a bar of chocolate, but the nearest shop was 10 miles away, it is doubtful that you would walk that distance to get it. Although the cravings may be very strong, and you really wanted the chocolate, the amount of time and energy required clearly outweighs the benefits.

How do you assess whether a particular goal is worth your time and effort? The simplest and most effective way is to list the inputs (time and energy) compared to the outputs (achieving the goal).

It is always so much more effective when you write everything down. Draw the map first, and then follow it!

Let's take an example of a popular goal. Say you want to stop smoking.

Firstly, write down your goal. "I will stop smoking cigarettes on the 15th of next month".

On a piece of paper, draw a line down the middle. At the top of the first column, write down "INPUT". This is where you list what you need to do to achieve that goal.

At the top of the second, write down "OUTPUT". This is where you will list the benefits of achieving that goal.

In the INPUT column, write down the actions that you will need to stop smoking. This may include "Do not buy cigarettes" and "Chew a piece of gum when I would normally have a cigarette". Stick to the facts - write down the actual actions that you need to carry out.

In the OUPUT column, write down all of the benefits associated with you being a non-smoker. "I will have more money", "I will be fitter" and "I will have more energy". Brainstorm here - there are loads of benefits!

Next, review the entries that you wrote in the INPUT column. Assess the amount of time and effort that each action will involve.

For instance, the first statement was "Do not buy cigarettes". It is logical to assume that buying cigarettes would take time and effort (getting to the shop, carrying out the purchase, and returning home). It follows therefore that if you didn't buy cigarettes, then no time or effort would be needed.
"Chew a piece of gum when I would normally have a cigarette" would take no more time or effort than having a cigarette. Indeed, it would arguably involve less physical effort.

Once you have written down a number of Inputs, consider the amount of actual time and effort that would be needed for each. In the example above, there really is no physical effort or time involved. When you compare these with the tremendous benefits that you will derive from stopping smoking, it would be extremely difficult to argue that the amount of time and effort exceeded the benefits!

This exercise can be carried out with any goal you choose. Here are the steps again.

Write your goal down on paper.

List the Inputs and Outputs.

Assess the amount of time and effort needed against the benefits.

You will then be in a much better position to keep yourself motivated and to achieve your goals.

To continuing your success!

Treatments That Work For Panic Disorders

There are a variety of different methods for treating panic disorders available. They fall into two basic categories - talking therapies and drug based therapies. If you suffer from panic attacks or anxiety and are looking for a way to eliminate them you should take a look at all the options that are out there. What works for one person may not work for you so if you try something and it doesn't work don't stop looking. Instead, try something else. Here is a run down on the treatments that work for panic disorders that give the best results and have relatively low or no side effects.

Cognitive Behavior Therapy

One of the most popular treatments for panic attacks and anxiety, cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) is done with a qualified professional. The idea is that they will help you talk things through and learn to change your thinking patterns and behavior so that you begin to think more positively. More positive thought patterns can help you to feel less anxious and to cope better.

SSRIs (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors)

These drugs are usually prescribed to treat depression, although they have been shown to be effective in treating panic disorders. A couple of examples include Prozac and Seroxat.

Trycyclic Antidepressants

Again, this type of drug is most often used to treat depression. One of the most commonly used for panic and anxiety is imipramine.

Self Help Treatment

There are a variety of self help methods for treating panic disorders available. Most involve reading a book or trying a program on the internet. Many of these have great success rates for helping people eliminate panic and anxiety and have the added benefit that they are usually much less expensive that traditional treatments. Not only that, but they are all drug free methods which is nice if you don't like the idea of taking drugs and risking possible dependency and side effects.

You can find information on several of the different self help for panic programs that are on the market and learn more about how to control or eliminate your panic attacks or anxiety without using drugs or traditional therapy at http://panicattacks.add6.com

What's in Your Garden?

I was out on my patio the other day looking at my little garden and I noticed my neighbor diligently working in her beautiful fruitful garden next door. She was smiling and whistling as she worked. I see her every day consistently working in it, and on it, and it shows. She has gorgeous flowers and she often shares with me the extra vegetables she harvests.

Have you ever noticed that the people who have beautiful, successful gardens are tending to and paying attention to their gardens most all the time?

They take great care in planning it and are consistent and disciplined in their daily schedules to work in their gardens each and every day regardless of if they feel like it or not. Hmmmm. Does this sound familiar to you...do these sound like characteristics of successful people who produce successful results in their business life as well?

One of my favorite quotes is: Successful People do what Unsuccessful People won't do. (I can't find who said this, however I am sure one of you will tell me.)

So as I watched my neighbor, Sally, work in her garden, I realized that many of us try to manage many gardens at once. As a result, some of our gardens don't produce as much fruit or look as pretty as the others. We try to do too much in a half-cocked way, producing a lot of medium or half dead gardens, instead of one harvesting one.

Let's look at what it takes to have one garden that produces a bountiful harvest:

The gardener must conceive of the garden, where to put it, decide, how to prepare the soil, rake it, put fertilizer in it. Then she must dig the holes, space the holes perfectly a part, then she must plant her seeds, or small plants and then patiently wait for the seeds to break through the surface. Then she must continue to nurture the little plants and soil as they grow and mature till the harvest time, by watering daily, more fertilization and of course weeding; pulling out the unwanted invaders, those little buggers that disturb the flow of the intended plants. If she waits patiently and does her daily tasks, she gets to harvest and enjoy her garden's gifts, the fruits of her labor. Time to celebrate!

Does this sound like a familiar process to you? No? Let's see...

My steps for a bountiful garden are my steps for successful goal and dream fulfillment:

1. Decide what's your garden going to look like? Decide where you're going to put your garden?

Dream, visualize, brainstorm, and plan-out what you want your life to look like. Write it down, sketch it out, write out every detail, every goal and dream as if it is happening right now, give yourself completion dates.
*Research shows that people that write down their dreams, plans and goals are much more successful in achieving those goals than those who fail to do so.

2. Prepare your garden's soil: fertilize, weed and rake the soil:

Prepare the foundation for which your dream is going to grow in and become real. Do you want a shaky foundation or a solid one? A table with three legs or four? Your choice, as to what quality of fruit (your dream) you want to produce. When you build your dream with a solid foundation: research and preparation (mentors, coaches to guide you) you are much more likely to achieve your dream in the vision in which you first conceived of it.

3. Dig holes, space them apart, plant your seeds:

Doing the legwork, taking action towards your ultimate goals and dream. This is a time for making sure that everything you do is consistent with the goal you want to accomplish and the dream you envisioned in step 1. You now know the right techniques and actions to take daily, weekly etc.; because you know intuitively, or have received guidance from certain resources (books, internet, a results coach like me, mom & dad, friends.) This is the important step towards establishing the million dollar habits that will help you accomplish your goals and dream.

4. Wait patiently for your seeds to sprout, but continue to water and nurture them, making sure they get adequate sunlight and vitamins:

Continuing your daily habits established in step 3- planning and carrying out the action steps consistent with successful and fruitful production of your dream.

**Using visualization, positive self-talk and feelings rehearsal to nurture yourself, accomplish your goals and attract your dream.

5. Continue to water and nurture the plants. *Now weed-out any unnecessary weeds/invaders that may impede the harvest:

Again, continuing your daily habits established in step 3- planning and carrying out the action steps consistent with successful and fruitful production of your dream.

**Using visualization, positive self-talk and feelings rehearsal to nurture yourself, accomplish your goals and attract your dream.

ALSO: Do an inventory of what may be blocking you at this time, or slowing down your plan of accomplishing your goals or dream on-time. Are you skipping certain steps necessary to harvest a better dream? Are you procrastinating? Are you avoiding something? Or are you taking on other projects and forgetting about the project you already started and committed to? Work with a coach to help you process and work through these blocks so you can move forward towards harvest.

6. The plants grow and mature, You harvest the plants, You enjoy the fruits of your labor:

The day has come you know it because; you have sketched it, you have visualized it, you have felt it, and here it is in front of you- it feels, tastes and looks so familiar. You jump with joy! You CELEBRATE! You dance around singing. People praise you. You smile ?...you know you've done what it takes to attract, manifest and grow your goals and big dream.

Daily life gardening is my secret for a successful life. I have found that my consistent daily practice of certain ritual activities and planned out tasks carried out on time allow me to have the life of my dreams. As I get better and better at tending to my gardens, my life gets better and better and richer and richer!

NOW THE QUESTION TO ASK YOURSELF IS: WHAT'S YOUR GARDEN LOOK LIKE?

Thriving During Tough Times - 7 Rituals For Thriving Success

When times get tough, many people are tempted to withdraw, cut their loses, and wait things out. In some ways this can be a valid strategy. However, you must also pursue a path of growth if you are going to survive and thrive during these tough times.

"One can choose to go backward toward safety or forward toward growth. Growth must be chosen again and again; fear must be overcome again and again."
-- Abraham Maslow

We must develop positive rituals and routines that support resiliency during these tough times. The tough times are going to throw punches your way and the rituals and routines that supported you during booming times may not be enough to provide you the resilience necessary to chose growth and overcome fear day after day during tough times.

Resilience is defined as the ability to recover quickly from depression, illness, or misfortune. The key is to recover back to a more positive, productive, and effective state. Resilience is NOT just about enduring the misfortune.

Many people end up creating routines and rituals (smoking, drinking, pessimism, etc.) that are not positive and don't allow them to recover to better states afterward. These routines and rituals might help you endure and survive tough times, but they will not allow you to thrive during tough times.

I recently had to survive and endure 45 straight days of challenging work in both my personal and professional life due to the several changes I initiated in order to deal with these tough times. I can honestly say that the last two weeks of those 45 days were extremely exhausting, frustrating, and unpleasant. I was able to meet the critical deadlines of the situation but it certainly took its toll.

As soon as my deadlines were met, I hit the wall. However, I was able to bounce back within 24 hours. I believe it is because I kept to most of my positive rituals and routines throughout six-plus weeks.

Here are the 6 positive rituals and routines that helped me most and 1 additional ritual and routine I lacked (which became readily apparent when I hit the wall).

  1. Daily intention and visualization - Key goals or objectives for the next 90 days is critical in setting your daily course. These goals or objectives should be aligned with your core purpose in life and provide motivation and inspiration in the context of your current challenges. Take a few minutes to visualize the achievement of your goals and objectives and truly feel the feelings of peace, success, and progress on your journey.
  2. Positive directive affirmations - Since growth must be chosen again and again each day, you should have directive affirmations to guide our growth. The directive affirmation should be reviewed several times throughout the day to guide the conscious and subconscious mind.
  3. Daily stretching and exercise - Tough times means greater stress. No matter what we do for a living, this stress impacts our bodies. You should use daily stretching to release the stress and exercise to build and maintain endurance and capacity that supports you physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
  4. Three Powerful and/or Inspired Actions toward your goals and objectives - Positive action creates confidence, momentum, and progress for a brighter future. At the start of each day, take a few minutes to identify three powerful actions that will move you forward. Be open to other inspired actions during the course of the day but commit to three powerful and/or inspired actions getting completed each day!
  5. Inspirational nutrition - The news and general economic climate are so filled with negatives information and stories these days that it is important to proactively seek out inspirational nutrition each day. Even if you just read something positive for 5 minutes each day, it will have a profound impact on your resilience.
  6. A focus on gratitude and what's working - When you look for things to be grateful about, you can find them. When you focus on gratitude, it will expand in your life. Use triggers or anchors in your life to focus on the positive things around you. They are always there. If you need help finding them, read about the inspirational stories of Victor Frankl and Admiral Jim Stockdale to see how they were grateful in much worse situations!
  7. Rest and recovery - Full engagement and sustained high performance can only be achieved through alternating periods of energy expenditure and energy recovery. Long periods of linear stress will gradually kill all living things. As Jim Loehr and Tony Schwartz say, "We grow at all levels by expending energy beyond our normal limits and them recovering... Expanding capacity requires a willingness to endure short-term discomfort in the service of long-term reward."

Apply the above rituals for thriving success and watch your world change for the better as we endure these tough times. Just try NOT to go 45 straight days without significant rest and recovery, if at all possible!

Achieving Goals- The Remaining 90% - Sheer Persistence

Achieving goals requires persistence.

Here's the proof: In 1915 Ty Cobb set up an amazing baseball record of stealing 96 bases. Seven years later Max Carey set the second-best record with 51 stolen bases.

Was Cobb twice as good as Carey?

Consider this: Cobb made 134 attempts. Carey made 53.

So Carey's average was much better.

Cobb however made 81 more tries and was rewarded with 44 more stolen bases.

Frank Bettger makes this strong point on page 238 of his fascinating classic:
How I Raised Myself From Failure To Success In Selling

When you get behind the big success stories in any given field, you often find the most successful have made more attempts and spent longer hours at the given task than anyone else.

In other words, they give the law of averages a chance to work in their favor! They just keep on striking out, often against all odds.

With achieving goals, this sterling quality of persistence and its bed-fellow perseverance, is absolutely essential.

Yes the previous six steps are also essential and crucial BUT, if you do not persist, your wonderful plan can go down the drain. Your vivid mental images can just evaporate into thin air. Achieving goals simply becomes wishful thinking.

Achieving goals requires that you keep at it day in day out.

Then you are GUARANTEED results - eventually!

Mental Toughness

To maintain this kind of momentum you have to develop mental toughness.

To be mentally tough means you minimize the effects of discouragement and you turn negatives into positives.

Jack Black, in his illuminating book "MindStore", uses a computer expression to combat negativity - "Delete that Programme".

Whenever a negative thought comes into your mind or when others make negative comments, say to yourself, "Delete that Programme" and replace it with a positive thought.

For example, when you catch yourself thinking, "This is just not working, this is useless and a waste of time", trigger mental toughness by saying "DELETE THAT PROGRAMME".

Instead think: "What do I need to do to make this work!"

Admittedly, negative mental habits are hard to break.

It takes time and persistence but oh, the rewards when you do!

The Remaining 90%

Do we understand then why the title of this final session is:

"Achieving Goals: The Remaining 90% - Sheer Persistence"?

It really does come down to that.

Just keep on going, persist, persist, persist, and let the good old law of averages work for you.

Achieving goals WILL become your reality!

Inspiration Ideas and Motivation Video

Finding something you don't like about yourself is usually very easy for most people. Most of the time you don't even have to ask your family or friends because you have heard them complain about the same thing for years. How many times have you heard someone mention, I need to lose weight?

There are plenty of things that people would like to stop doing or start doing. If you're a smoker and you seem to shop excessively near the casinos, I would advise you to start with something small and work your way up to the big stuff.

What are you going to change today about your life? Make a list of things that you're not happy with about your life and start making the changes today that you need to create the life you deserve and desire.

Motivation For Doing Cardio

Today I am going to talk about the importance of doing your cardio without getting bored. I have tried doing my cardio for an hour without any kind of music, and time drag and my cardio was not as effective. When cd players were out, you can only get 17-18 songs on a disk and it was a pain to change the cd during your workout, so the best thing to come out was the iPod.

My iPod holds 1000 songs and there is no changing disk or carrying around a big cd player. It's very small and you can categorize your workout songs. They have an iPod arm band so your hands stay free!

With that being said, working out with having music at your disposal is one thing, but what kind of music should you listen to that will help you stay motivated? Well this is what I listen to and we all have our preference's. I like to float back and forth between dance, rock, and hip hop. I mix newer music in with old. Having new music and going back and forth between dance, rock, and hip hop keeps things fresh, because listening to the same thing gets old and boring. I don't recommend slow songs, jazz, easy listening, or anything light, because it brings you energy levels are down and you don't get much of a cardio workout as you would with up tempo music. However, we all have our preferences and if you feel that lighter music will give you a better cardio workout, than by all means knock yourself out.

Now whether you download illegally or not, I won't get into that. However, I recommended the apple iPod, and you can store your music on iTunes. http://www.apple.com/itunes/ It's very easy to use as well. There are tutorials on itunes and they will help you get started.

So in conclusion, you should make your workouts as effective as possible and having music will help you stay motivated. I encourage you to visit my new site at http://www.infobloginsider.com until next time!

Prosperity Partnering Can Make Growing Your Business Easy

Joint ventures and strategic partnering are common marketing strategies. Many entrepreneurs have extended their reach, impact, and profits by joining with others to reap the benefits of business synergy. Prosperity Partners are above and beyond the JV mindset; its about finding people you connect with at a deeper level and allowing that connection to be the foundation of a shared prosperity goal.

Finding a Prosperity Partner may be easier than you think. First you have to be in the stream of life rather than sitting on the bank watching the beautiful sailboats go by. Too often people wont jump in because they are waiting for all their ducks to line up they never do; they are waiting for life to slow down it never does; they are waiting for the approval or cooperation of others which isnt likely to come any time soon.

If you have a list of reasons why you are not going for your passion or playing full-out, you may be feeling uninspired or burdened by your own dreams to be, to do, to have. Prosperity Partnering is a powerful tool for keeping yourself enthused and on track. The only thing required to attract powerful and amazing Prosperity Partners is you showing up in your own life as powerful and amazing which you are. Trust me on that one. You are brilliant, resourceful, creative, and you can bring all that forward right now. If you mistakenly believe that you cant get started until you have all the answers and you have to know all the ins and outs before you can embrace your passion, I invite you to change the belief right now. Another deterrent could be if you are addicted to self-improvement and you are stuck in a cycle of learning one more thing before you feel confident in what you already know.

There could be many reasons why you are not moving forward with confidence. Use this EFT Choices Style Affirmation to help release you from this psychological form of bondage; Even though I dont have all the answers right now, I choose to move forward with confidence and ease. When you stop stopping yourself, selling yourself short, you will begin to attract people who see your inner brilliance and respect you for it. Your gifts and talents are so second nature to you and they may seem so ordinary to you that you take them for granted. Someone on the outside, a potential Prosperity Partner, may see these very qualities as star qualities that would be a great compliment to their own strengths.

As you move forward, you will observe that there are people who naturally resonate with you and others who do not. You will become skilled at forming new positive relationships and support networks and from those connections you can set an intention to attract your team of Prosperity Partners. A Prosperity Partnership is not a legal contractual agreement, its a soul agreement. It carries more weight that the human law can enforce because this kind of partnership is consciously leveraging Universal Laws. Prosperity Partners understand the implications of the Law of Attraction in how they conduct their personal lives and their business. Integrity and ethics are part of their core and this is not to say you should not sign legal contracts to guide your business interactions, its just a reminder that a contract wont assure you that you are in a Prosperity Partnership.

It may take you a few misses before you get it right. That certainly was my experience. I think the shift came for me when I realized I could be successful without depending on others and thats when I was able to attract Prosperity Partners who were operating from an equal position. Co-dependency is not a basis for any viable partnership and it certainly has no place in a Prosperity Partnership. Its about interdependence and synergy at its best; like a great marriage. Prosperity Partners wont have the same strengths or weaknesses, but they will have strengths and unique perspectives that are perfect to compliment one another. They add value to each others offering and they support and encourage personal success outside of the business context. This is a very powerful relationship. If you want a Prosperity Partner, step into the stream, ignite your passion and set an intention to attract the perfect Prosperity Partners with confidence and ease.
