Motivation for Sustainable Exercise

If there was one thing I found most difficult to stick to consistently, it was regular exercise. How about you? I talk in my book about the importance of increasing our activity to raise our heart rate, three to four times a week. I also talk about the 'Stickability' factor but one thing I haven't mentioned is working with our biorhythms.

So let's examine what I mean. Have you ever tried to go to a gym or increase your activity after work or later in an evening? How about 6am in the morning? I can almost hear the shouts of 'No Way' from here! Believe it or not the time of day you set aside for extra physical activity has a huge impact on how you manage to stick to it.

We all have an inbuilt mechanism that regulates the flow of energy in our body. At certain hours of the day there is more energy available to us than at other times. This is due to our personal biorhythm. If we are in tune with it and working to its rhythm, whatever we do will flow more easily and be more enjoyable. Work against your biorhythm and you will always struggle.

For me, my optimum time to exercise is 6am. This is when I am full of energy. Undertaking an activity at that time of day seems to set me up for a positive start. I feel more energetic and find that my mind rarely wanders to thinking about food. When there is an opportunity to get more active during the day I find myself feeling more enthusiastic and resist resistant the 'call to get physical'.

But that is my biorhythm. Yours may very well be quite different. So how do you regulate your increased physical activity to your biorhythm?

1. Take note as to what parts of the day you feel most energetic.

2. If you don't feel you have much energy then note what parts of the day you feel most energised after physical activity

3. Find friends who have the same biorhythms and support each others activity motivation

If you haven't thought about it before, give it a go and see your commitment levels improve.

Self-Help Anxiety Curing Methods to Help You Fall Asleep

Self-help anxiety curing methods can be extremely valuable if they are successfully implemented and help you with troubles falling asleep. Most people who suffer from anxiety or panic attacks have an especially difficult time getting a good night's rest. A lack of sleep will only heighten the chances for anxiety to take over your day.

For many that suffer from anxiety, bedtime is just another dreaded part of life. The thought of lying in bed in silence and letting thoughts run wild can be outright terrifying. I used to feel like this, and I wouldn't be able to fall asleep without the background noise of the television present. It's easy to let your thoughts take over and begin worrying about all the negative things that can happen tomorrow, or replaying any stressful events of the previous day.

The obvious truth is that these thoughts do you no good, and when you don't get the amount of sleep your body needs to function you're inviting anxiety into your life.

Self-Help Anxiety Tip # 1 - Think Positive

Bringing positive thoughts into your life will benefit you in multiple ways. It's really easy to fall into a habit of dwelling on negative thoughts all day long. We all know someone who takes this to an extreme and it's safe to say that this kind of person is never the life of the party. This type of person can bring everyone around them down, and if they exhibit worry or fear, those same feelings are likely to be become contagious as well.

Contrarily, positive speech and positive thinking can also catch on. Positive thinking can replace the habit of negative thinking. When you lie down at night to go to sleep, the first thoughts don't have to be about how horribly wrong your day may go tomorrow. Instead, you may just get into a habit of feeling great about what potential tomorrow holds and looking forward to the future.

Self-Help Anxiety Tip #2 - Exercise Regularly

If you haven't heard by now, exercise is healthy. I apologize for the sarcasm, but it seems many people don't quite understand just how much exercise can benefit your all around well-being. Sure you'll lose weight and feel good about yourself (as if that wasn't enough reason to exercise), but a regular exercise routine will dramatically reduce the amount of stress and anxiety in your life.

Try jogging a mile or lifting weights for 20 minutes the next time you feel anxiety taking over. After 20 minutes stress melts away and it's often replaced with a sense of elation. Exercise is a potent all-natural stress killer. If you do workout, or have in the past, I have no doubt this rings true for you. If you don't exert yourself often, give exercise a chance. One session won't change the way you look in the mirror, but you will immediately feel the effects of its anxiety diminishing power.

Secondly, on the days that you exercise, you won't be able to ignore the fact that sleep comes with less effort and is often uninterrupted. When you introduce a daily workout regimen into your life, a good night's sleep is a natural byproduct. When you combine the two, anxiety is less likely to be a part of your day, or sleepless night. Practicing both of these self-help anxiety curing methods will benefit many aspects of your life.

If you suffer from anxiety you're not alone. There's help available in various forms. If you'd like to learn some more effective self-help anxiety curing methods, visit Mike's site at:

Midlife Women in the Age of Miracles

Are you living your life's dream right now? Women, midlife can be the age of miracles for you. If you are not yet living your dream but are still alive? There's still time!

Victor Hugo once said "Each one should frame his life so that at some future hour fact and his dreamings meet."

There is a story told that years ago, while unearthing an ancient Egyptian tomb, an archaeologist came upon seeds buried in a piece of wood. When they were planted, the seeds realized their potential after more than 3,000 years!

There are seeds of possibility in all of us still. Allow yourself some waking DREAMING... what do you see for yourself?

It's becoming clearer and clearer to me how we create every aspect of our lives - and when we get truly alert - or conscious, we begin to see how we get to SEE in life only that which we have already SEEN in mind..

Do you know where you're going to?
You're going wherever you SEE yourself going...
Take time this week - randomly set an alarm during the day - and when it goes off ask -

is what I'm doing right now taking me where I want to go?

Do you like the things that life is showing you?
It's showing you what you were able to see in the past.
If you don't like what you are seeing - Start SEEING it differently.. Scripture tells us - without a vision, the people perish... Without knowing where you are going - you'll dissipate the energy on things that are meaningless...

How do you see yourself? Where do you see yourself in a year? What are you doing? Who are you being? In 5 years? And ultimately - what's your REAL AIM in life? Women in midlife have the perfect opportunity to ask these questions.

SPEND Time EVERY day picturing what you would have your life to be...

-Create Treasure Maps if you're visual -

-Tell yourself if your auditory...

-Test drive the car if your kinesthetic
You KNOW to do these things-- are you doing them? And,
If not, why not?

You probably have about one third of a lifetime - at least - left. Don't let being a woman in midlife stop you.

This truly can be your age of miracles.

And so, I would like to offer a support system for getting clear on what you want. In fact, I'm all about creating a new Midlife paradigm. When you subscribe to my free Midlife newsletter, you'll also receive instant access to a special report called, "7 Secrets for Reinventing Midlife from the Inside-Out". Putting God On Trial

Want To Control Your Thoughts?

Do you think that your thoughts can rule you? If your answer is YES then you are in the right path. Thoughts play an important role in our life. Our thoughts can be so influencing that we can even heal ailments with just only thoughts. Most of us know this. Also we can make things happen in the way you want them with your thoughts. With your thoughts you can do both good and bad. You may wonder how, just keep reading further.

Thoughts are broadly classified as Positive and Negative thoughts. As the name conveys, positive thoughts are the ones that we will have to give more importance as they do more good than the negative thoughts. There is never a moment a person is not thinking. Most of the time, we are carried away by our thoughts. And most of our thoughts are influenced by people around us.

First of all we must watch our thoughts. Just observe them cautiously. Of course it is difficult the first time. But, you know practice makes a man perfect! You will be able to master this art in no time, if you practice it regularly. Now, after watching them, the next step is to identify them. You can easily find out if it is a Positive or a negative thought. A negative thought is not only those which are bad for us but also the thoughts which will affect others are considered to be negative thoughts. After categorising, our major step will be to control the negative and replace them with the positive thoughts. This is not as easy as we say.

We have to replace the negative thoughts with our positive ones immediately whenever we find them taking control. Longer intervals for this replacement will weaken the positive thoughts and hence the effect will be less. When a negative thought comes and controls? Its origin is from the external forces. Majority of them is from the place and the people. They influence our thoughts and thus affect us. But we need not worry for this because; our thoughts will get influenced only to the extent we allow them. So its very easy for us now. We must be strong and must not allow our thoughts to get influenced. For this we need to practice.

For example, if you have failed in any of your attempts to complete an activity and you thoughts are in such a way which makes you feel more depressed then they are negative thoughts. Say if you think 'Oh I failed! I could not do it! How impotent I am' all these will add on to your failure and will never allow you to try again and succeed. Instead if you start thinking 'these are my new experience and learning that will help me in succeeding in the next attempt. I can do it!' then you will be a winner always!

When we keep reinforcing positive thoughts over the negative ones, we will soon realise that our negative thoughts are gradually getting vanished and we are in control of our thoughts, in turn our emotions. This will surely lead to a happy and peaceful life.

Don't Miss Happiness

The Happy Musings for the Day: Happiness does not come uninvited. It needs to be the guest of honor!

Yep, if you put happiness first, the rest falls into place. That does not mean "pleasure happiness", but true happiness. We are always doing it the other way round - trying to get everything in place in order to be happy. Why miss all that time in the process? "Happiness Now" is the way to go - the happiness that is not dependent on outside circumstances!

I believe happiness does need to be invited into one's life. There is always plenty of room for it. If not, push some other things out of the way to make room. In fact a welcoming committee of all aspects of your being could band together to create a great welcoming party. Then once it shows up, make it the honored guest, so honored that it will never want to leave.

It is almost a life exercise to maintain this state. It seems like it is a state one step above everyday life which goes up and down. Happiness is above the clouds and winds and rains. It is steady and consistent. And it is reassuring to know that we have control over it. It never turns down an invitation. We just have to remember to open the door. I think of all the friends to have, happiness is the best.

A moment without happiness is a moment lost. Don't waste a moment.

Memories and Questions Can Uncover Purpose and Passion

By exploring the things you love to do, your strengths and skills, and what you'd do even if you weren't paid, you can discover your purpose in life.

You can begin a process of discovering your purpose in life, or rediscovering a purpose you previously held that has become neglected and forgotten, with two simple techniques. One is recalling times in the past when you had a strong sense of the direction you should go and followed it. The other technique is answering several questions you may not have thought to ask yourself.

Incidentally, you will probably get more from this process if you don't try to force the memories and answers but allow your responses to bubble up from your subconscious in whatever way feels most comfortable. You will gradually get a sense of the direction in which you want your life to flow, much as a caterpillar needs to go into a chrysalis before it can emerge as a butterfly.

Your memories can help define the purpose of your life. So recall a time when ...

People wanted you to do something and you chose very deliberately not to do it. This may have happened in childhood or later as an adult. As your memories of this event come back to you, experience as fully as you can how it felt to stand up for what you believed in, to choose your own way.

You were very excited about a goal, either large or small, because it was something you wanted to do very much. Remembering that event, experience what it is like to move with determination toward something you want, even if you don't accomplish it as well as you had hoped.

Fate, luck, God, or whatever you would call it, placed an opportunity in your path and, because you took that opportunity, the direction of your life was changed. Experience what it feels like to take advantage of circumstances and challenges you had not expected, but which offer you a chance to grow in some way you would not have been able to grow otherwise.

You were quiet and your mind was not chattering, as it often does, and out of seemingly nowhere came a flash of inspiration showing you just what you needed to do to resolve some problem you were having. Experience as clearly as you can what it feels like to listen to your intuition, to follow your own inner guide.

You achieved something important and others praised you for it. Experience what it felt like to have others acknowledge your achievements.

You accomplished something you wanted to do, but no one else knew you had done it. Experience what it is like to do something well, whether or not others know about it.

Questions can guide you in your quest to discover a deeper purpose in life.

  • What do you love?
  • What do you like doing so much that it recharges your batteries even when you're too tired to do anything else?
  • What are your strengths and skills?
  • Was there ever something in your life that was so important to you that you felt at the time you absolutely had to accomplish it in order for your life to have meaning? Did you do it? And if you didn't, what got in the way?
  • Is there something you would like to do if money, time or energy were not a factor? And when you realize what that is, ask yourself how you might get the money, time or energy to do it.

One final question deals with the principles and values upon which you have built your life up to this point.

Like everyone else, you have chosen, out of the many possible religions and philosophies, one approach, or a combination of several, that resonates most clearly within you. Even if you follow the faith of your parents and accept their values, the question to ask yourself, in order to deepen your understanding of how you make decisions, and thus how you might discover your purpose, is:

What is it within you that caused you to choose your values, your beliefs and your philosophy of life?

All of these questions can guide you toward an overarching purpose for your life. When, in addition, you need to overcome some difficulty, there are seven questions you can ask every day that will remind you to live with purpose even when the going gets tough.

Keeping Your Dreams on a Wire?

Are you living or acting on your dreams or are your dreams sitting, like birds on a wire waiting on the right moment to take flight? If you do not act on your dreams, or take decisive steps to make your dreams a reality, they will remain dreams; buried deep inside of you. Here are a few suggestions to help your dreams take wings:

Believe in yourself, self-confidence is a key component to success. You know much more than you think you know because you have researched and researched your project.

Business plan: Work on a business plan. There are several free samples readily available or find some who specializes in writing business plans.

Mastermind group: Discuss your plan/idea with a trusted friend, or if you have several good friends form, (or join), a mastermind group where you will discuss ideas and come up with solutions or ideas that may be very workable.

Know your product. Do your homework, what/who is your competition. Know the pros and cons of what you are offering. Find out all you can about similar products. Ensure that your product is exceptional.

Prepare yourself to go the extra mile, offer the best of the best.

Listen to others but make knowledgeable, fact based decisions.

Network, network, network you will gather invaluable information from other entrepreneurs, business owners, managers, coaches and or consultants.

Try, try and try again; seek out different avenues and ways to do what you want to do; success does not always come on the first attempt. Trying several times affords you the opportunity to perfect your craft.

Remember, no one can dream Your dream, therefore no one can make it a reality but you. Do not let anyone, not even you, talk you out of your dream.

Is Jesus The Only Way To Heaven

Religious Views Based on Hoping

I was told by an advertising executive one day that all of your advertisements need to deliver some sort of hope for the people you're trying to persuade into buying your products. Funny, if you think about it, I got some and great advice about life from someone in the advertisement business.

Most people are looking for hope, in everything they do. Most of our daily activities revolve around hope and this gives our lives some sort of direction. If you believe in an almighty being and creator of the universe, often you will try to please him, ....or her, ....or it, in hopes of entering the kingdom of heaven or the promised land after you die.

Often our fears will increase our levels of hoping, the fear of doing something against your religion can often inspire you to become a more spiritual person, a good and moral person. Fear of making the wrong choices will inspire us to make better, moral choices, all for the sake of acquiring a ticket to Heaven or Nirvana. You're hoping, your good deeds on earth will earn you a place in heaven.

Most people are afraid of dying and leaving this world, for good. They don't know where they're going and that seems to scare most people. If we can offer someone a little hope, that they are going to a much better place than here, we can often ease the pain and suffering associated with death. I have to admit, most religions of the world promise another world, after we're done with this one.

If you're living a honest and moral life with the hopes of living a bountiful life in heaven, could you be wrong. What if you're seeking Hope in the wrong religion? If you're a Christian and the Hindus are right and you're wrong, do you get to enter there eternal kingdom.

Think about this question, I'm about to ask you. What if spend your whole life studying your religion and it's wrong? There is no heaven and when you die, that's the end of your existence

Have you ever wondered why you believe in your religion and someone in another country or even a couple of miles away believes in something entirely different.

Don't get mad at me or yourself, simply think about the question for a while, this question has transformed my life and put me on a wonderful spiritual path of learning.

Three Questions to Ask Yourself If You're a Christian

I was talking to someone on the Internet the other day through e-mail and I found myself asking them the same questions that I have asked others to think about. That's when it dawned on me that I should make this list available to everyone who is either involved in Christianity or is thinking about becoming a Christian.

1. Why Do You Believe in God?

Have you ever given it much thought, how or why he became a Christian. Were you raised a Christian and now consider yourself a Christian or have you converted from another religion to Christianity? Were you a nonbeliever and now are a believer? Are you someone who was indecisive and didn't really give much thought to Christianity but then met someone and they convinced you to follow the Lord.

2. Do You Use God?

I've heard so many people talk about God when things are going bad but rarely talk about God when things are going good or even give God much thought. When you're having problems, do you pray for God to give you the answers or maybe even a little help? When people are dying, they're reaching for anything that can promise them hope, that this isn't the end of their life. Is God your safety crutch in life, only to be used when there's a problem?

3. Would You Be a Good Person without God?

Is fear the only thing that keeps you in line? You don't want to do anything bad, because you might not get to go to heaven. Is it possible for you to live your life as a good person, an honest person and maybe even show a little compassion towards others, without God. Do you think we could live in a world and be good people without fear or judgment?

I don't really know if these three things are going to help you but if just one of them gets you thinking about Christianity, then I've done my job. Learn a little bit more about your religion and how you came about your beliefs.

How Did You Choose Your Religion? - This Article Could Change Your Views on Religion

How do we come to believe in a religion, one that most of us never even chose? How many people reading this article right now believe in the same religion of their parents and how many of your parents believe in the same religion of their ancestors?

Do you think it has anything to do with repetition? If your parents made it through life, you can do the same and if they went to church every Sunday, by god that's what you're going to do. If these people save their money up for retirement and worked at a 40 hour a week jobs, with all the other hardships that life seems to pass on us, you can do exactly the same thing.

I'm not too familiar with other religions but seem to know a lot about Christianity. As a young Christian I was baptized and went to church every Sunday. The most important part to me about going to church, was the snack I would receive during Sunday school. I really can't tell you what I remember or if I learned very much while attending my church classes.

I do however remember my parents creating a belief in my mind of a God and that God was in charge of everything. If I was bad, God wouldn't like that at all, but if I was good god would like me and maybe if I was even good enough, one day I would get to go to heaven and heaven is a wonderful place to be.

Is this how you came about your religion? You just seemed to follow the path of your parents, family or friends with very little thought, this is just the way it is and you're fine with that. Or are you one of those believers that is almost cult like and could never be convinced that your religion is wrong. You know without a doubt that you need to spread the message of your religion to everyone on earth.

Are you one of the rare individuals who have studied about their childhood religion and have now chosen another path. Has someone convinced you that their religion is better than your old one and now you have switched and can't believe how happy you are.

Thinking about how I never chose my religion, forced me to study other religions, to see which one was right. I am even more confused than when I first started but no longer believe in my childhood religion. I've often wondered what our world would be like without organized religion or somebody trying to control us like the government. Both of these organizations seem to do a pretty good job making us believe they're looking out for our best interests.

Brainwashing People

You Were Born Into Your Religious Thinking

Most of us have been exposed to at least one religion while we were being raised by our parents. I was raised a Christian and lived in a Christian community. Like most Muslims and Hindus, we never had a choice, about which religion we wanted to belong to. Our upbringing determined our future religious beliefs. No matter how good or bad our childhood was, our parents justified their behaviors and we accepted these and will probably pass them down to our children.

I was wondering, what if you took the strongest Christian in this country and put them into a Tibetan monastery, shortly after they were born. Instead of growing up in a Christian community and gathering strength through other Christians, this person would now be exposed to Buddhism.

What do you think would happen now? Do you think that God would intervene and somehow bring him back to the United States or put him in a different Christian community, to be raised as a Christian, instead of a Buddhist? What God intervening and put an end to this nightmare? Do you think that the Christian would now be a Buddhist follower?

We are all products of our environment, whether we like it or not. How you were raised, who you hung around with, the people you admired and of course your parents have all had a certain impact on your life. Believe it or not, your religious views are from your childhood. Now there is a certain exception, those who switch religions, but this is extremely rare.

However, there are people who seem to be waking up from this fog of reality. As the Internet becomes more popular and easier to access, people can often visit other countries from the comfort of their home, through the World Wide Web. The more we are exposed to different points of view and other religions, the more real our world becomes.

The conclusion to this story is, there's a very good chance, by switching a child at birth, their beliefs would be entirely different.

Goal Achieving - The Secret Behind the Secret

It's 2009!...Undoubtedly, a year of change for the nation and the world . . .

The question is: Will it be a year of change for YOU?...If so, what kind of change?

Some of us would like to think that in order for us to be happy, things around us have to get better first. And, while it certainly looks so on the surface, let's talk about our role in changing our world.

Have you ever taken a moment before you turn on the TV or Talk News to feel the change in your body's stress level before and after you turned on the news? If you have, I'd bet you felt more stressed after turning it on. The reason is this: We are all problem solvers by nature - and, sitting in our homes or anywhere else, we have no control over what happens Nationally or Globally, outside of writing an email or letter to our state representative or congress person. And even then, it is out of our control what they do beyond that. We've voiced our opinion, we must now move on. In reality, there are many things we cannot change -- like everybody else in the U.S. or the world -- to fit our vision of how things should be -- and, subconsciously, the frustration of that causes us stress.

The good news is (and this may sound too simple at first) we have the greatest impact on the nation and the world by focusing on what we do at home. Although it may not seem like much, it is and I'll explain why in a minute - In order to change the world, we must first change the things we do have control over, and the closest thing to us is ourselves.

Can we change the world by changing ourselves first?

Absolutely. Our thoughts, our behavior...that little impact we make - our little 'footprint' if you will - and the impact our little changes have in our own lives influence those around us and this -- in turn - we do change the world. By changing a thought, an attitude and behavior in yourself first, you'll see changes on a very small scale initially -- in you! Over time, you'll notice the change that your new behavior and attitudes have on someone else and then someone else, and so on.

How does that work? It works like this: Have you ever seen a ripple in a pond? If you haven't, then go ahead and throw a stone or pebble into a quiet, still tub or body of water and watch what happens. The reaction the water has to the stone or pebble tossed into it is called a "ripple effect." If we throw a small stone gently into the water, the water ripples gently. If it is a large body of water, you'll notice the ripples continue going out and out and out farther and farther and until eventually they get so large and so small you can't see them. Although you cannot see the ripples any longer, the impact is still there. That is basically how we impact the world. The water represents our world and the pebble represents the thought we throw into it. No matter how hard you try, you cannot start with the large ripples. We can only get the result of large ripples by first creating the small --

Just as ripples caused by a pebble being tossed in water can never be rescinded, the ripples we send out into our world can never be retracted...What ripples do you want to be sending out into the world today?

We've all heard the adage, "Change starts at home" and "Charity begins at home." Now you can see how it absolutely does. You may ask, "How can I begin change?"...The same way you eat an elephant, one bite at a time!"

Let me ask you a question: What do you want the world to look like at this time next year? Kinder? Happier? More understanding? More honest? Richer? More compassionate? Then ask yourself: What am I doing in my own life today to make my own life kinder, happier, more understanding, more honest, richer, and more compassionate?

You'll see as the thoughts and actions in your own life change, it 'ripples' in your family and friends, and as your family and friends are influenced by your example they may begin to change, and if they don't, you may decide to spend more time with people who are open to changing previous attitudes and behaviors in order to change your world. You want to spend more time with the kind of people that move you closer to your desired life, so that your life can evolve into everything you want it to be. As you begin to change yourself, by changing your thoughts and actions, you influence your environment, your home, your work, your community and so on. With continued progress in the direction of your desire, your 'ripples' get larger and larger until you literally see your world change.

Ask yourself: "What is it I want? And, what do I intend to do today to make positive changes in my life so that I begin to create the world I want?"

And, "What do I want" can be a difficult question to answer. Most of us think in terms of things we don't want. Ask yourself, if I don't want this...why? and, if I don't want that . . .why? Your answer will likely include or lead you to what you DO want. Hopefully, one of your intentions is to change this way of thinking about what you don't want into what you do want!

The power of the mind is amazing. You can literally create and have anything you want when you become a master at controlling your thoughts. Did you know we are the only animals on the planet that can do that? We have this amazing gift and yet somehow manage to go most of our lives without being aware of it.

Here's an example of how the power of your mind can change your life: Have you ever written down your goals at the beginning of the year, looked back at them at the end of the year and noticed that most if not all of them were accomplished without you even thinking about them again? And, of those that were not accomplished - had you been encouraged to see that steps had been made toward their accomplishment? Or, maybe you decided one day you wanted something and you got it so fast you were shocked? Or you thought about someone then the phone rang and it was them! This is a perfect example of the power of our mind - and of the power of our thoughts. So, when is a good time to test this power?

There is no time better than now!

Winter time is a perfect time to reflect on how things went last year and decide what you'd like to change in your life this year. This is a perfect time to think about, really think about, the kind of life you want and write down your desires and goals for this year on paper.

There are 347 or so days left in 2009. What are you going to be doing for the next 347 days to move you toward having the life you want? 347 days from now, do you want to have the same life as you have today or would you like a different life? What does that different life look like? Visualize it. Feel how it would feel to have gotten that accomplished. Now, write it down! Write down every detail of the picture of the desired life you would like to have 347 days from now.

Now imagine if you took one new step every day toward creating a piece of that picture! If you did one thing a day for your health, beginning with the way you think about it, at the end of the year you'd be healthier than you are today because you made 347 actions toward better health. If you did one thing a day toward improving relationships, your relationships would be 347 steps closer to being reciprocal, honest, trusting, loving, and all the other characteristics you want to see in your relationships. If you read a chapter a day, you would have read 347 chapters, which is more than 20 books by the end of the year! The list is endless. Will this have an impact on your life? Will your life be different next year if you take these steps? Of course it will!

But what happens if you do nothing because you don't believe you can, so you don't change your thoughts or begin to take steps (even tiny ones) today? That's right. Nothing.

It's not a coincidence. It's Law. Just as Sir Isaac Newton discovered the Law of Gravity by analyzing the forces at work when sitting under the apple tree, we can respect the fact that there might be other Laws at play here too. Laws that, just like gravity, we do not see and cannot touch, but they are here all the same. The movie, "The Secret" lays out pretty well the power of the Law of Attraction. But another one of those Laws is the Law of Reciprocation. It states that what you put out, you get back. Put out a little effort, get little return. Put out a lot of effort, get greater returns. Put out no effort, get no return. Put out positive efforts, get positive returns. Put out negative efforts, get negative returns. Give love, get love. That is the greatest lesson of all. If you would like more love from your family, give more love to them. Be kind. Be supportive. Encourage them to grow. Do all the things you would want someone who loved you to do for you if you were in their shoes. The Law of Reciprocation is the Golden Rule, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Another way of saying it is: Give away what you want the most. Respect, love, appreciation...

Always remember there's one thing you can control and that is you. Only you control your thoughts and your actions today. You can make those thoughts and actions congruent with the kind of life you want and you can have it. You do not have control over other people. You may have influence, but you have no control. They have free will just like you. They will discover their power to when they become aware and begin to test it and trust they have it.

Make a decision about what you want and then act on it. Take at least one step each day - make a phone call, ask someone for information, set an appointment, or spend 20 minutes focusing on something you desire, asking yourself, "If I were to have that by December 31, 2009, what could I do today to move myself closer to it." I guarantee that if you did that and took action on whatever answer came to mind, by December 31, 1009 you could be happier, have less stress, be healthier, have more money and better relationships than you do now!

You can accomplish whatever you want, that is, if you do five things: DESIRE it, ASK for it, BELIEVE that you can have it and then follow that belief and ACT on it and, most importantly, stay FOCUSED on it!

My favorite book says, "God helps those who help themselves." We help ourselves by taking action toward the life we ask our higher source or God to provide. Don't expect your goal to fall into your lap if you aren't willing to take action toward it.

Good intentions are not actions. You've heard what they say, "The road to hell is paved with good intentions." You must ACT. This philosophy is congruent with Newton's Law of Motion. Whether you think in terms of the scientific or philosophical, the message is the same: Put your desires into motion by taking steps toward them. In other words, an intention with action charges the intention and brings the intended result about.

Some people might get hung up on deciding on what their goals should be. If you haven't a lot of experience setting and achieving goals, the concept can be challenging. The worst thing is when people get stuck and therefore do nothing. I don't want that to be you!!

When I was 19, the concept of a long term goal was totally foreign to me. Now, it is crystal clear. When I was 19, I could set a goal for this week, this month and even this year, but had difficulty setting a goal for what I wanted 5 or 10 years down the road. When I was 22 years old however, the lightbulb came on, I decided I wanted to own my own business someday...Not knowing yet how to do that, I set out to gain the knowledge and experience I needed to increase my chances of success and set a date.

To envision a long term goal can seem illusive, yet to others it seems simple. Why is that? I'll tell you why. If we have difficulty envisioning long term goals it's because we have no practice getting good at accomplishing our short term goals! We need first to get good at accomplishing short term goals to graduate beyond the short term to the long term. All it takes is awareness, which you are getting now, and practice!

That reminds me of the guy who stopped a concert violinist in New York for directions. He said, "Excuse me. How do I get to Carnegie Hall?" The musician replied, "Practice!"

Long term goals can seem illusive if we haven't developed the ability to achieve short term goals through practice.

Understanding how to make and achieve long term goals without first understanding short and mid-term goals can be like trying to run before first knowing how to stand or even walk -- or trying to graduate High School without going through Elementary School. I suppose if I say it can't be done, someone will sure enough do it, but it is a tough row to hoe. Our mind doesn't work that way. It's hard to grasp concepts we have no foundation for. We learned to walk by practicing getting up. We practiced getting up and began standing. We got better at balancing and standing and began taking steps. Soon we began walking -- with practice. By practicing at achieving the smaller goals, we gain trust in the process, we get better at achieving them and soon we know how to set and achieve larger and larger ones.

As you practice this, you'll notice a funny thing about the mind. That is that as you start moving toward you're the picture of the life you want to create, that life starts moving toward you. It's almost as if the world realigns itself to bring into your focus the things you need to accomplish your goal. The truth is, it was always there, waiting for you to desire it and seek it out by taking action.

Have you noticed how after you buy a new car, suddenly you notice how many of that particular car is on the road? That is an example of awareness. Once you achieve something, even something as simple as a car, you gain a heightened awareness of it. You are aware of this car more intimately now because you own it. And perhaps even begin the action to buy a nicer car soon after by creating a new thought! That's how goals work.

Start small. Build trust and awareness in the process. Eventually, you will become an expert at grasping the smaller achievements and move toward creating the life you want in the long term.

If you're still not convinced this is how your life is designed to work, think about all the stuff in the world: electricity, cars, music, clothing, paper, furniture...all the stuff you can think of that you use and love every day. All that stuff began with a thought and a desire by someone, another human like you, to create it.

When Benjamin Franklin had the thought of putting the key on the string in the thunder storm and acted on it, electricity was discovered. All the elements to create electricity had always existed, but it took Ben to first have the thought, the desire and belief that it was possible and then to stay focused and take action on the thought to achieve it. He tried many things and each time, with practice and action, he became more aware of the solution. The same elements he used to discover electricity were certainly present before that moment, but it took Ben Franklin to have the thought and take action on it to bring it about. The elements to create electricity have been here all along -- even in the cave man days, but cave men had not evolved to the point they needed to produce electricity. They had more basic needs -- like a need for fire to cook food and a wheel to carry the day's catch. Those were their 'discoveries.' Virtually all the earlier creations and discoveries have been expanded over the years to create the 'things' we enjoy today - gas fireplaces, furnaces, automobiles...the list goes on. But everything, no matter what it is, that you need to create your dream is already here, waiting for you to discover it. You only have to have the thought and take action on it.

I don't want you to worry about how you are going to achieve your goal, just know that everything you need, you will have available to you as you gain the awareness to use it. I'm sure Ben Franklin had no idea how to create electricity, but he kept focusing on his thought, maintained his desire, stayed curious about it and after many tries, the 'how' was revealed that one rainy night.

Thought is where all things that created and all goals achieved begin.

Can the mind really do that? Yes! We have a couple of well-known references to prove it. My favorite book says, "Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world." It also says, "Ask and ye shall receive." There are no caveats. No small print. Just, "Ask, and you shall receive." This same book also assures us that we are created in the image of our creator. Doesn't this at least imply that we might also have an ability to create something? Yes. It does. Think about it -- if there was no basic truth to these quotes, why would they have survived 2000 years?

So decide what you want and Ask for it. And don't forget the important elements of Desire, Belief, Action and Focus.

Focus is important. Focus is your mind's GPS. Focus doesn't necessarily accelerate the time it takes to reach your goals. Because the time is what it is. At maximum focus the time it takes to accomplish something is much less than with partial or minimum focus. Your level of focused action determines how fast you reach your goal. There are laws at play here too. Just know that the better you are at focusing the faster you can achieve your goals. Make sure you stay focused so that your actions are taking the shortest route possible to take you where you want to go. If you find you're doing something that does not move you closer to your goal, stop and refocus. Here's why:

Imagine taking a 355 mile trip from San Diego to Phoenix. You set the GPS to find the shortest route. The trip takes 6 hours by car going the speed limit. You begin to drive according to the GPS instructions. If you continue to drive according to the GPS, you'll reach Phoenix in 6 hours. But if you ignore the GPS and instead take several exits along the way, or take the 'scenic route' though the Grand Canyon how long would it take? Or what if you reached Interstate 10 and decided to go North to Palm Springs for the Winter instead? It could take days, weeks or months instead of hours to reach your goal, depending on how many side trips you take and how long you ignore the GPS! Now, it is OK to change your goal, but if your goal is still to get to Phoenix, do you see how much longer it will take you to get there because you took all those detours? A GPS is to a road trip what focus is to achieving your goals. You'll get there faster if you stay focused. It will take longer, or perhaps never, if you don't.

As the Nike slogan goes, "Just Do It!"

Try it. Go ahead and dream. Dream about the life you would like to have 347 days from now. Write it down. Don't worry about the how. The how will come once to decide on what you want, fuel it with your desire and belief that you can have it, stay focused on it and begin taking steps toward it each day. Maintain focus on the life you want 347 days from now and you'll be surprised how your world changes!

Eliminating Negative Media From

Religious Thought - Are You Confused About Heaven?

As a young boy and even into my early adult hood, I asked almost every one that I knew, what they thought heaven was going to be like. These people painted me the most wonderful and beautiful pictures, with the words coming out of their mouths. One woman told me that heaven was going to be the most wonderful place you could ever imagine. She told me that, I would be able to do anything that I wanted to do at any time of the day or night.

All I can say to this, is why are we afraid to die and why do we put that much effort into staying here, when heaven sounds like the place we all want to be. This becomes very confusing during troubled times. We live our whole life to be the best we can possibly be, and then and only then do we get to enter the kingdom of heaven, the most wonderful place in the universe.

Another man told me that, if I wanted to go to heaven, the more good deeds I did on earth, the better buy chances were of actually entering heaven. He said that some people don't get to go, because they did a couple of bad things or maybe one really, really bad thing, like murder. I often wondered what would be worse, murder or painting demonic symbols on the walls of a church, mosque or synagogue. I hope I'm not confusing you anymore than organized religions.

Well now that I have a pretty good idea, that in order to enter into heaven, I need to do good things... that's what I will do for the rest of my life. Sounds simple doesn't it. Now for the bad news, depending on which religion you choose to follow and don't forget that Christianity is one religion that allows you, something special, right before you die, no matter how bad of a person you were to accept Jesus Christ into your heart and accept him as the Almighty God, and this gets you one free pass into heaven.

Am I confusing you at all, does this make sense? When the man told me, that, the only way I would get to go to heaven was by doing good deeds and then the Bible tells me that, I just need to accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and I get to go to the promised land, heaven. All right now were talking, this sounds pretty good now. I won't have to do very many good things and before I die can ask forgiveness for all the bad things I did.

I don't know what's true, but I can say that it gets a little confusing and as you go from religion to religion and place of worship to other places of worship, you will hear different stories, from different religious leaders. I can't make much sense out of some religions, but if you want to believe in heaven, there is someone out there who can paint you, the most wonderful picture of heaven in your mind. Whether we really get to go there or not, depends on what you want to believe in.

I wrote this article to get people thinking about the choices they've made and the religions they choose to follow. Is your religion right and others are wrong? Ask yourself this one question, think back, to when you made a conscious choice to follow the religion you're in right now, if any, most of the time you started believing as a child and never really got to choose because your parents, teachers, friends, family or guardians made a choice for you.

Your Hardest Day In Life

Does God Exist and If So Who's Right? Religion

Would you stake your life on your beliefs? I'm asking this question, hoping that you have an answer. Would you be gambling with your life or are you that sure about your religion. Do you live your life without a doubt that your religion is right and other religions are wrong or are you one of those people that hopes you are right and hopes that the other religions aren't.

If you are a Muslim and follow Islam, is the Quran the Word of God? Is this text flawless and without error? What's going to be going through your mind when you go to heaven, if you go to heaven, only to find out that the Hindu religion is right. Are you convinced without a doubt, 100% that your religion is right or are their errors and mistakes in your religious text.

Is your God going to be merciful and understanding to other religions or other people who have lived what you would consider to be a good and moral life. Is your god going to let them enter heaven or is he going to turn them away or possibly send them to burn in an eternal lake of fire.

Imagine, if you can, standing near a cliff and there was a long line of people and you were slowly working your way towards the front of the line, watching someone who was glowing with radiant light asking people questions, and pushing some of the people off of the cliff, while others walk away unharmed. You're going to be ready to answer any questions that the glowing person is going to ask you.

When you arrive, he simply says do you believe in your religion 100%. What's your answer going to be? What's going to be going through your mind? Are you that sure, that you're right.

So I ask you again, are you positive and without a doubt, 100% sure that you are right about your religion and the other religions are wrong. If you're not 100% sure, do a little research about your religion and your beliefs will either get stronger or weaker but try to keep an open mind, either way.

Most religions around the world have certain things in common. Seek the truth and the truth shall set you free. You've got to know what you're looking for though, so pay attention.

Listen To Your Own Advice

Being Flexible

In each of our lives, there will be times of joy and times of sorrow. In trauma, we are born. In trauma, we leave the world. Somewhere in the midst of living, growing, and understanding life in our maturity, we find ourselves seeking to find what we were born with. Innocence is precious. We really never lose it. We might for a time lose innocence, but life is too large for one perceptual being to embrace fully with the mind and the heart.

Innocence comes alive the moment we realize life is beyond our control, our ability to perceive, and our emotional capacity to feel. It is here we realize that life is beyond our control and we open our hearts and mind to something greater than ourselves. Our ego finds its proper place in our lives and we shift from being the central core of life's existence and attention to something much greater. At this point, we begin to place our life, our heart, our mind, and our soul into the very wisdom that has created us.

This movement from self-centered awareness to life-centered awareness allows us to perceive and have revealed to us information greater than what we know life to be to what can be known through us. Here, we become flexible with life, instead of, life having to go our way. This level of knowing creates a 6th sense, a super sense of awareness, an awareness in higher consciousness. We become more soul than body at this point. We become the awareness that brought us into this world. We become spiritual beings having a human experience. We become sons and daughters of the Universe.

When we remember who we are. We re - member ourselves back into the awareness at birth and at death. This awareness is with us always. We sometimes forget who we are. But, when we re - member who we are. We reconnect ourselves into the sense of knowing we grow through life and we also go through life. Through it all, our soul is in process of maturing and in process of remembering. With this in mind, our ups and our downs find consolation in our essence - in our spirit.

What Does God Care About? - Spiritual Thinking

If I ask you to stop what you were doing, get a piece of paper and a pencil and draw a line down the center of the paper and on one side, write down what you think God cares about and on the other side write down things that you think he doesn't care about, would you do it? Make a list for yourself and then ask yourself, if your religious beliefs are on that list somewhere. As long as the side of the list is longer, about the things that God does care about, I guess everything is okay, isn't it.

If God doesn't care about starvation or hunger, I guess I can understand that. It would make more sense because in the real world, the world God created, it's survival of the fittest, right, wouldn't that be a true statement. The smartest people on the planet and the most educated, aggressive, goal oriented and religious believers seem to have the best lives and live in nice homes, don't they. I really never thought much about starvation but I guess God's plan is based around the strong will survive. I'm just thinking out loud here.

I wonder if God cares about people that are poor and uneducated? These are the meek and don't they inherit the kingdom of God, or am I missing something. Do you think poor people and uneducated people are suffering because God wants them to go to heaven only after they have suffered on earth. I can't really understand the concept of suffering on earth to receive rewards later after you're dead. Just doesn't make sense to me.

What do you think God really cares about? How will we ever know if we're right? If you believe in Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism or any other religion that believes in a deity, I guess you can open up a book and gather all the answers. This doesn't make much sense to me either.

Reading these scriptures can often lead to confusion if you're open-minded. Examining these scriptures a little closer can provide you with education. Educating your self on other religions can help you understand more of what God really does care about. I believe God does care about love and compassion, all gods.

Relax And Rejuvenate With Office Yoga!

Are you spending too many hours hunched over your computer? Did you just get off the phone with a difficult client? Have you become entrenched in office politics? Are you nervous about an important meeting or presentation? Have you been concentrating on a difficult subject for too long of a time period? Instead of stressing out and causing your body to go into a fight-or-flight type of chemical reaction, which over time may lead to a feeling of dis-ease or worse, take a couple of minutes to release some tension.

Office yoga can be done at your desk, in the break room, at the copy machine, or wherever you are comfortable. There is no need to change your clothing or fix your hair afterwards and you only need a couple of minutes to leave you feeling more centered, alert and feeling good.

Please remember that all movements should be comfortable. You want to feel the tension releasing and the muscle lengthening; however you should never push yourself to the point where you feel pain. If you have any physical limitations, be sure to make proper modifications. An integral part of yoga is to be present in your body and be aware of how you are feeling, so put your problems aside, at least temporarily, and be present in the moment. (It is amazing how perceived problems sometimes just seem to work themselves out when we get out of our own way.)

Here are a couple of simple stretches that you can do without leaving your desk:

Grounding & Centering:

From a seated or standing position, lengthen your spine so your head is over your heart, your heart is over your hips (if you are sitting, your feet should be flat on the floor - if you are standing your hips are over your knees and your knees over your ankles) and take several long, slow, deep breaths. Inhale through your nose and let your belly expand, then exhale through your nose and allow your belly to contract as if you were pulling your navel to your spine. *This posture will hereinafter be referred to as neutral position.

Side Stretches:

From a neutral position, take a deep breath in and bring both arms overhead. Clasp your left wrist with your right hand and use your right hand to assist in a stretch of the left side as you bend to the right. Hold for a couple of breaths, come back to center and then repeat on the opposite side. Exhale as you allow your arms to return to your sides.

Neck Rolls:

Starting in neutral position, bring the chin to the chest. Inhale and bring the right ear to the right shoulder. Exhale and bring your chin back down to your chest. Inhale and bring your left ear to your left shoulder. Exhale and bring your chin back down to your chest. Repeat several times on each side and return to neutral position.

Shoulder Roll Sequence:

Roll both of your shoulders several times forward and back. Ultimately bring your arms behind your head so that your hands are clasped and supporting the base of your skull. Lengthen your spine and open back by turning your chin toward the ceiling, being gentle on your neck and squeezing your shoulder blades together. Hold for several breaths. (*This will help off-set some of the postural distortion caused by a computer monitor that is too low or hours of looking downward to do paperwork, however, avoid the spinal extension portion of this stretch if you suffer from a bulging or herniated cervical disc.) Then lengthen the spine back to center and gently bring your chin down to your chest using your hands to apply a pressure that is comfortable for you. Hold for a couple of breaths and then return to neutral.

Spinal Twist:

From a seated position with a long spine, reach both hands to the right side of the chair (holding onto the arm of the chair is ideal) and allow the lower, middle and upper back to twist to the right. Look over your right shoulder. Elongate your spine as you increase the twist and make sure to breathe deeply in this pose. Come back to center and repeat on the other side. (*This pose is very nourishing to the spine but in the event of a spinal injury or if you are in your second or third trimester of pregnancy this should be practiced with due care.)

Back Roll Up:

From a standing position with feet about hip width apart, bend the knees - keeping the knees pointed in the same direction as the toes - and place your hands on your quadriceps. Starting at the lower back, inhale and roll the spine up, one vertebra at a time, neck is last. Repeat several times.

Standing Forward Bend:

From a standing position with feet about hip width apart, lengthen the spine and bend forward, coming out of the hips. Hold onto your elbows and lean forward. Hold this stretch at the level that you are comfortable. It is okay to bend the knees if you are less flexible. Otherwise try to straighten the legs and lengthen through the spine. You should feel a lengthening of the muscles of the back of the legs (the hamstrings). You may also feel a release of tension in the upper back. Gently shake your head to allow a greater release. Make sure to breathe fully and deeply as you are nourishing the brain in this inverted pose. If you would like to increase the intensity of the hamstring stretch, grab the back of your legs or even your ankles and pull your torso toward your legs. Remember, first lengthen the spine and then bend.

Quad stretch:

From a standing position, shift your weight to the left leg. Bend the right leg behind you, trying to touch the heel to the buttocks. Your right knee should be pointing toward the floor. You will feel a stretch in the front of the right leg (the quadriceps). Hold the stretch and take a couple of breaths and repeat on the other leg.

Try to take a couple of minutes, several times a day, to incorporate some stretching and relaxation into your daily grind. It will leave you feeling refreshed, revitalized and more productive.

We are all products of the mental image we have formed for ourselves. Most all images are created by our imagination based on our past life experiences. These experiences, good and bad are fixed in our minds. If we see the sun rising every day, we believe that this will continue forever and we may prepare for each new day by wearing sunglasses. Our daydreams and fantasies form our outlook of the future. Together with our ego's analysis we either live in the past or in the future. Seldom do we allow ourselves the liberty of dwelling in the present.

Many years ago, after I just purchased a motorcycle jacket and was wearing it for the first time, I got into a fight in a parking lot. Upon arriving back at my house after the fight I hung the motorcycle jacket in the back of my closet, never to wear it again. You see, my vision of the future had equated the wearing of the motorcycle jacket to getting into another fight, and I wanted none of that. My belief system had convinced me to rid myself of the object I perceived would lead me into another fight. At that time I knew what I was doing but was afraid to confront myself with the reality of the situation. With respect to the wearing of the motorcycle jacket, I had sealed my future.

The clothing I wear reflects my future interpretation of a coming event based on some past incident. This was a real eye opener for me, however I couldn't do anything about it. My past was my future.

To some extent that is probably the way most of us operate. The modalities I have studied and taught reflect the intent of bringing us into the present and allowing us to operate in the moment. In the practice of yoga or tai chi we must be totally concentrating on the mental and physical posture we are practicing at the moment. These postures must become second nature, enabling us to practice with a still mind. This is the way to go about our daily lives. Let our intuition guide us thru our experiences. Our minds calm, our bodies relaxed and our breath long full and deep. In this way we reflect our true nature as we move thru life.

Beyond Motivation - Passion

It seems that just as we shifted paradigms in the eighties, we worked synergistically in the nineties; now we are passionate in the naughties. Even my local petrol station has passion brochures at the pump! So what are we passionate for ?

Last October I got some unasked for, but expert, advice from an extreme extrovert to be more passionate. After I had calmed down, I took a long hard look at what I was doing and seriously questioned my passion level. This was after all, expert advice.

My research took me through a motley assortment of superficial pop psychology and self help books, all with Passion in the title and each more inane than the last. Finally I stumbled across a book by Sydney author Peter Wallman, The Wisdom of Passion. He appeared to get to the real core of what Passion is, and after meeting with him I was convinced that he had identified a simple but powerful process for identifying and capturing our core passions. I loved the simplicity of the process and the clarity it brought to me and my business. Now I assist others to identify what it is that gets their juices flowing.

Along the way through research, self analysis and questioning of my clients and others who have Passion Mapped I have identified some keys to passion.

Passion is very personal and unique to the individual.

Most of our strongest passions are kept internalised and rarely expressed outwardly.

The most powerful passions are not material (or sport).

Connecting strongly with our passions creates a magnetic effect We attract people and opportunities.

Eliciting deep passions requires skill, we have learned well from the school of hard knocks to keep this side of ourselves hidden.

When we express our passion, our voices change, our eyes sparkle, and our physical demeanor shifts.

Passion is contagious be very careful.

Passion comes before motivation and way before action.

Passion makes a difference.

I share my story of being told to be more passionate with colleagues and clients and generally get snorts of bemusement. As an introvert, I am not given to bounding into a room, leaping in the air, giving great shouts, or jumping up and down on a sofa Oprahs or anyone elses. So how do I express Passion? Tell me after you talk to me!!!

Passion is not something you have more (or less) of. Passion is inherent and intrinsic.

Last week I had the opportunity to coach 10 leaders and staff members of a niche organisation during three intense days.
Each of these individuals has a determination and a spark in their eyes, a tone of voice and a body posture which unmistakably conveys the depth of their passion about the work they do. Unsurprisingly, the organisations Director is passionately leading from the front - a true visionary leader. I felt honoured and very humbled to be coaching this particular team. Their common focus and harnessed energy, steered by their Director, is making a huge difference to their client base. Truly a high impact and passion based organisation.

One of our tasks as leaders is to uncover and unleash the hidden power of Passion in our employees, to harness and direct this passion towards a common shared goal. Just imagine, if you will, for a moment what your team could achieve this year if they were as passionately involved and focused as the organisation I mentioned earlier.

Kofi Annan said To live is to choose. But to choose, you must know who you are and what you stand for, where you want to go, and why you want to get there.
In business our Mission and Values statements spell out who we are and what we stand for, Our Vision statement gives where we want to go, and our Strategy gives us the how. But the why is missing.

Passion is the why!!

Luck Is What Happens When

Law of Attraction - 10-Common "Attraction-Mistakes" People Make

If you don't think the Law of Attraction is working for you, then try and understand that the Law works the same for everybody - we just don't all put the same kinds of thoughts and feelings into our desires. Everyone uses their thought processes in different ways; different thoughts generate different results. People who are successful at creating and manifesting their dreams and desires are people who think about their plans and desires in a certain way. But people who don't seem to be getting what they want in life also think about the things they want in a certain way - and each kind of thinking bears its own kind of fruit.

People who are successful and creative typically think in terms of possibilities, opportunities, and success; they think of the worst-possible outcome, for any given situation, only long enough to make decisions about the future - never dwelling on "worst-case scenarios" after a decision has been made. People who complain that prayers aren't answered, and the Law of Attraction doesn't work, on the other hand, have a tendency to dwell on the worst thing imaginable - shooting themselves in the foot, where the Law of Attraction is concerned, by maintaining a more negative emotional state.

If you can identify negative or limiting thought-patterns and behaviors within yourself that are holding you back, you can take steps to eliminate them using prayer, meditation, or an Energy Psychology technique like Gary Craig's Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), or Grant Connolly's Z-Point Process. The first step in eliminating negative thoughts and behaviors is to recognize negative thoughts and actions when they arise.

Here's a list of 10-common Law of Attraction mistakes that can keep your dreams at bay:

  1. Thinking about what you don't want rather than what you do want
  2. Spending more time thinking negative thoughts than you do thinking "positively"
  3. Being impatient
  4. Not thinking about what you want
  5. Not doing what you love - not maintaining a positive mental/emotional state
  6. Declaring that the Law of Attraction doesn't work, or prayers aren't answered
  7. Not being specific about what you want
  8. Trying to control outcomes and change physical conditions with force
  9. Thinking, or worrying, too much about what you might be doing wrong
  10. Being Judgmental, Unforgiving, Ungrateful, and/or Unappreciative

Any of these things will put you in a negative state rather than a positive one; and your "vibration" will be one of stress rather than joy, relaxation, and healing. If you find yourself thinking or doing any of the things from this list, you may be able to receive the experience you have been trying to attract by simply letting-go of the "negative" behavior, or replacing it with the "positive" version - for example, spending more time thinking positively than negatively, or being very specific about your desire. When you have removed these self-limiting behaviors, and are clear about your heart's desire, there will be nothing between you and your dreams.

How to Get Happy, Get Money, Get it All - Overcome This Negative Habit

Depressed about money? Depressed about your health, your circumstances? How does depression help you out of the hole you feel you have dug for yourself? How does depression resolve situations? Here's the answer.

Depression is a dark feeling which keeps you depressed.

What is this thing called depression? It's a feeling. It's a feeling you decided should be part of your repertoire of feelings. You picked it up along the way. You saw someone use it. You decided to put it in as a tool in your life.

It's a decision you made as a very young child. Maybe when you were a baby. When you made that decision you didn't know any better. Isn't it time to reconsider your decision to choose depression?

Ask yourself a question.

How does depression help me?

How does depression solve the circumstances that made me depressed? You quickly see. Depression doesn't give you a solution. Otherwise, circumstances would have already changed or you would know how to deal with them effectively.

Depression contains lot of negative feelings. It makes you mad. It makes you sad. It tells you to beat yourself up. Depression makes you live in regret. All of that is negative. How does that help you?

Negative feelings drag you down. Do negative feelings fix whatever depressed you? Do negative feelings make you happy?

How can you go UP by going down?

Many people like to live in a state of depression They saw people around them living in depression as a baby. They decided depression is the way to live.

Depression is a drag. It drags you in the opposite direction of good. You want to have abundant money, vibrant health, lasting, loving relationships. You want to be happy. You want peace of mind with no stress. That's in the direction of high energy. It's in the direction of up.

Depression is low energy and the direction is down.

In Ancient Greek mythology the mermaids lured the sailors over to the rocks. The sailors sailed over and met their destruction on the rocks.

Old feelings, you put in a long time ago, such as depression are mermaids. They're a bad habit that lures you into depression and crashes you into the rocks.

Be vigilant. See the mermaids of depression The mermaids may be alluring. However, they possess negative feelings which then possess you if you embrace them. See the mermaids of depression luring you over to the rocks. Sail your ship in the opposite direction. Sail away from the rocks and out into the freedom of the open seas. Sail away from the rocks.

Decide to be positive in spite of any circumstance.

That's how to change your circumstances and spin your life upward.

From Greedy to Grateful - Appreciating What You Have

Not everyone is greedy, but most of us expect a lot out of life and often forget to be grateful for what we have already achieved and obtained. We seem to quickly jump from one accomplishment to the next. We go from receiving good things that we enjoy only briefly to quickly pursuing the next good thing we want. We are, for the most part, a pretty needy and wanting bunch of beings.

If you're at all familiar with the Law of Attraction (LOA), you know that it states that what you put your attention on you attract to you. When you are grateful for what you have, you will be more apt to attract more good to you. When you are greedy and constantly wanting more and the next best thing, you are not stopping to be grateful for what you just received. You are not even taking time to celebrate your success, to enjoy the accomplishment, to revel in having it. What you appreciate, appreciates. That is, what you offer gratitude for grows and more comes your way.

For example, say you wanted a promotion at work and you got it. Instead of making a party for your co-workers or family, you're already thinking about how you can get the next promotion. It's a never-ending list of "gimme's" when you don't offer gratitude. Gimme that new car, gimme that new suit, gimme that vacation. It's all right to want tangible objects and activities in our life that make us feel good, that we feel we've earned by our hard work. However, we become greedy when we don't take time to acknowledge all that we are getting and all that we have.

And if we throw a tantrum when we don't get what we want, that is certainly not being grateful, and we are less likely to get it. If you want to live your life by applying the LOA, you need to be grateful, offer blessings and thanks for what you have now, and more will be added to you. A grateful heart attracts, while a greedy one repels.

A great practice for giving gratitude, which I share with my life coaching clients, is to write in a daily success journal. Every night before going to sleep, write down five things you are grateful for. What was wonderful about your day? Who did you touch? Who touched you? How did you serve? How did you make a difference? What good came into your life? The small things are just as important as the bigger ones.

Are you grateful for your family, friends, pets, house, car, clothes, work, prosperity, health, and more? Write these in your journal as a way of appreciating what you have. Not only will you attract more good, but you will feel good. You will feel filled up with all you already have. Your grateful heart will replace your greedy one.

I am grateful for the moments I share with my wife and children. I'm also grateful for my profession as a life coach, which allows me to help people live better lives. Most of all, I'm grateful that I always have the ability to change.

How about you? What are you grateful for?

My Divine Purpose

Questions and Answers about My Divine Purpose

My Divine purpose is to help the world to know it's Self.

What is the best way to achieve this?
The best way to achieve this is through example.

Can you explain a little more what this means?
The way you live your life and interact with the people in the world.

Am I doing the right thing at the moment?
Yes you are one of the leaders of new spirituality and as such you have to break the mould. This is why you often feel strained and why you need lots of rest.
The work you are doing is so important and will have major repercussions for the world and mankind. I know that I have gone through many changes and I feel the presence of spirit around me.

Are there ways I can make a better connection to spirit?
Yes you can be yourself, relax as much as possible and know that you are already doing the most important work you could be doing. I appreciate the work that we are doing together: I understand the importance of feeling connected to spirit and the universe.

Are there any techniques, which I can use to improve this connection?
Yes you could focus more on your feelings and feel the subtle depths of that spiritual connection.
By becoming more aware of the Self at these subtle levels you breathe awareness into that level of consciousness and make it available to everyone.

Are other people helping me with this work around the World?
You know there are: You can feel your connection to them and speak to them at any time.

Would it help to speak more to them?
Silence contains all the speech you need: Silence contains the whole. Speech brings the mind to the point of focus but silence has the power and the connection.

Spirituality is a Lifestyle

We are all spirit by nature; therefore all that we do is spiritual. However, being spiritual is a lifestyle that we create while we experience the physical world.

Getting back to nature and being one with all things is spiritual for some, while chanting mantras and meditating several hours a day and being spiritually connected to others is spirituality for others. But the truth is, spirituality is a choice of lifestyle as is being Christian, Buddhist, an atheist or anything else. It is a way of life that includes symbols and rituals that represent a way of life that we imagine as spirituality.

When I first started channeling and writing about spirituality and trying to find my own spiritual awareness, I imagined I would be levitating a foot above the ground as I walked down the street. I imagined I would be seeing things others did not, and I would have great intuition and wisdom. People would be drawn to me for advice and clarification of their purpose. Well, some do that, but it is nothing more than that which happens everyday with anyone else. All of us are being spiritual; being somebody.

Simplicity seems to be synonymous with being spiritual. Many spiritually aware people choose to live simpler lives, but it does not mean that they are more spiritual than someone with a complicated or busy lifestyle. Spirituality is a lifestyle that we make up. It is a philosophy or direction/path that we choose to experience. It is just another box that we find ourselves in everyday.

Because one third of our entire being is spirit, we cannot even choose to be spiritual; it is what we are anyways. So spending our lives trying to be something that we already are can only be a lifestyle choice. In the course of practicing spirituality what we are in fact trying to do is to become more "spiritually aware." We are trying to connect to spirit and its purpose and to be in harmony with that purpose. Knowing what our destiny is and aligning ourselves with it brings greater power and resolve to manifest it in this lifetime.

To say that a person is really spiritual implies that they are more spiritual than another. That is not correct. It simply means that one may be more connected with spirit or more "spiritually aware." It is something we all have to wake up to. We are spirit first, having a physical experience. But we did not come here to have a spiritual experience, but to have a physical experience. No one knows what spirit is. Being spirit is different that being spiritual. One is a thing, the other is an experience. It is not possible to define or experience being a thing unless you are that thing.

Many people believe that spirituality empowers us to use our psychic abilities, but that is not the case either. There are many people who display psychic abilities who do not live a life of spirituality. Psychic abilities are once again physical attributes because they can be seen, heard, smelled, felt or tasted. They are extensions of what we already do and they can be developed and experienced physically by anyone. The use of psychic abilities does not make us anymore spiritual than we already are.

Being spiritual is being the way you are now; being natural. It is more correct to say that I am spirit, being Roy. And it is natural for Roy to say that "I am" being this or that. We live within the illusion of the separation of spirit and Roy, but really it is the spirit saying "I am" Roy. The spirit is really the middleman between mind and body; it is the energy which gives animation to the body.

Spirituality is a physical manifestation of our thoughts about what spirit is, and what it does. Nothing can take us to spirit, whether it is religion, faith or spirituality. The only way to get there is to be there, and to know it as absolute. While you are practicing, training or living the lifestyle, you are not there, you are experiencing getting there.

For a Christian, Muslim, Jew, Mormon, Buddhist or the spiritually enlightened to say they have found the way is arrogant, and pretentious. If you are on the path - you are not there. As a race of beings, we take ourselves much too seriously. The simplicity of spirit is to be what you already are and not something you are trying to be.

In the process of writing this article, I am being spiritual naturally; I am spirit being a writer. I have chosen to live the spiritual lifestyle that I have created, because it gives me a different perspective on my environment. But I am no more spiritual than anyone else. It is simply an expression of how I feel and my thoughts about the physical life and the circumstances that I have created.

Writers, philosophers, and artists simply express themselves publicly. Their spiritual inspiration comes from an open connection with spirit and mind, very much like what you are doing every day in your chosen lifestyle. Your inspiration comes from the same place, although you may not physically express it as spirituality. These people's thoughts are manifested through a filter of spirituality, rather than religion, mysticism, fear or something else.

Living my chosen lifestyle of spirituality has not excused me from human emotion or physical restrictions. I live in a physical world and I am subject to all things physical. My spiritual insight helps me to see a bigger picture and interact with the environment differently than others. The same can be said for any lifestyle. But none of the things I have chosen in this lifetime can or will prepare me to be a spirit being after death. They are two different realms of existence and one can only experience them while they are one or the other.

We are faced with many choices everyday, what we choose will determine a new experience that cannot be experienced the same way in any other time or place. We make these choices most of the time based on our chosen lifestyle. Lifestyles are little boxes that we live in, and they go no where. To fully evolve to the next step, you must choose another box and continue choosing. The very meaning of life is motion, and it is continuous. What you choose tomorrow does not negate your past choices; they are simply sign posts that you have moved on. Every choice is another step in your development.

Your old thoughts about whom and what you are represent pieces in a museum. You observe them and marvel at how far you have come. You can see where you have been and were you are going. You do not go to a museum to condemn the past but to marvel at it. Spirituality is a choice and a lifestyle; not an end unto itself. What you are now and how you have chosen to express it is a signpost or landmark for you and others. However, you are not here to learn anything but to experience all that it has to offer. When you have matured enough in your belief you will move on despite you own best efforts not to. But don't look back at it as a mistake or a wasted life. Try to remember that it has brought you to this point and you are ready to experience something else.

From my perspective it would appear that humanity has stalled in its own spiritual development. Nothing much about human spirituality has changed since time began. That observation comes from a place in time and space that does not see the whole picture. It is a limited physical judgment.

It is because humanity is already spiritual and there is nothing to change; it is why he does not see it. He does not have to find what he already is. His only purpose here is to experience all things physical, he is a "spiritual being," experiencing physical life, and this is not a school where he has to learn anything. He is simply experiencing his thoughts about what it is to be physical in his own unique way.

Spirit, spiritual, and spirituality are not the same things. However, they are connected through the physical experience and our own thoughts about what they are.

While you are here, seek to better your life. Know that it is you who is creating all the circumstances of your life and that only you have the power to change it. Get out of any box that is not working for you and move on. Become away of your spirit and your destiny and your life will be filled with abundance. Life will be less of a struggle and filled with anticipation and happiness. Never allow anyone to lead you down the garden path by suggesting that they know the way or that their way is the only way. No one can ever know your way or your destiny and purpose.

Where ever or whatever you are now is appropriate for you at this time and space. When you discover that it is no longer working for you, you will change your circumstances or you will remain and experience complaining about it. There is no right or wrong way to express yourself; there is just your way. Your circumstances will always demonstrate physically what you are thinking about yourself and your relationship to others and your environment.

You are the creator, just look around you and see how your environment fits into you belief system. Look at the people, places and things that surround you. This is spirit, your spirit in physical form; your manifestation. Do you like what you see, does it bring you peace, good health, abundance and fulfillment. If not, why not and what are you waiting for. Who do you think is going to change it for you? There is no person or thing that is greater or has more power than you to change your life. Be what you are naturally. Be the grandest version of the greatest vision you will ever have about who and what you are or not!
